India Altered Book Spread #7

April 23, 2008 · 4 Comments

The inspiration for this spread began with the arch.

I just happened to have one that I created for one of the on line challenges.

I made a pocket out of a neat piece of clear plastic with gold shells on it.  Thank you Michelle :)

The arch can be slipped in and out of the pouch.

I wanted to leave the background pages fairly plain for this spread, altho I may still tint the edges, not sure about that yet.

The golden disks were sewn on by hand; capturing a seed bead in the center of each.

I used a piece of the lovely Indian trim that I picked up at the Eye’s Gallery on South Street in Philadelphia for the right page border.

I am more than two thirds into the book.

I have some wonderful decorative fabric that I’m going to use on the cover, but will wait to add that at the end.

Friends keep giving me wonderful things for adding to the book. Thank you so much Pat!

Your books are absolutely wonderful, I can’t wait to see what you do to the India book next! That artch (I think artch should be spelled that way, don’t you??) is really lovely, capturing the vibrant colors of India and contrasting it against the black and white pics is really great!! Love it!

Your India Altered Book photographed very well indeed, love it, all over again. You just keep on adding to it. I am thinking you and the book are becoming one with each other.
And, thank you for the birthday wishes, that was a surprise, although I didn’t get to your blog until the mornin’after! HA!
