The Mixed Media Monday challenge is using “paint”.
I created these fabric/paper pieces and washed them with different paints.
The process begins by painting plain muslin with a glue and water mixture, adding torn pieces of thin papers and then covering those with tissue paper and paints.
The gold edges are done with a hot glue gun and a Krylon pen. I stitched on the gold beads with needle and thread.
It’s a magical process that the talented, Beryl Taylor teaches.
She is such an talented, creative and generous artist.

fantastic Patty. I looked at that and thought “ooh Beryl Taylor” then I read your post and discovered that was exactly where you were coming from! I’ve tried this technique myself and it’s great fun. You’ve done it proud.

I saw this and said to myself, “Wow! Patty has bought one of Beryl Taylor’s pieces and has posted a photo on her blog.” Then I read the post. Very, very well done! It’s gorgeous, to say the least!

Oh Patty I love it! It really looks very Berylesque, and yet very you too. I am working on some fabric paper too, I hope it turns out just half as nice as yours! Welcome home.

Patty,
This is lucious and very intense. I love the colors of the blue and dark red. What did you do with the hot glue pen AND krylon for the gold edges? It’s a really neat effect.

I just bought some wonderful hessian to make myself a bag with and now it looks like I shall have to try your technique on some of the textiles I have lurking under my desk!
