Inspired by working with metal in Leighanna Light’s metal deck class at Art & Soul last week, I created this necklace. I have a collection of doll bodies and parts, with big plans for them
.
This is my first creation using a doll body (about 2 inches or 5 1/2 centimeters).
She has two roosters on the back of her neck, “made in Italy”.
One wonderful thing about the “cold connection” method of assemblage (new term I learned), is that no glues are used; just wires, brads, threads or however you’d like to attach items. Her eyes close when she’s laying down. I used wire to attach her to a piece of metal I painted and punched holes in and added some seed beads along with a few old buttons = Such a fun and easy project!
Leighanna Light is an amazing teacher and artist! She creates a relaxed atmosphere in the class room very conducive to letting go and getting into a project. She’s very generous with technique tips and supplies too!
I will post some photos of some of my metal deck soon; I made a dozen different ones, front and back!
