Disintegration Collaboration #2

Preparing my paper lantern for Seth’s Disintegration Project was so exciting that I just had to make another ‘bundle’ for the experiment.   I began to wonder if my lantern would make it to the first of May as it is quite delicate.

I had originally wanted to use this rusty wire basket anyway.

I lined it with today’s Real Estate Section from The Washington Post;  something that has already disintegrated a good bit

2-a

layering bits of rusty this and that between the pages, some pieces from Pat at Ooglebloops :)

2-b

a drink coaster made of nice spongy paper

2-c

some interesting chapter titles and paper textures randomly torn from encyclopedias and books

2-e

it now hangs from a tree near my paper lantern

see the little orange thingy in the background

2-f

there is a rusty garden angel hanging over the basket

the papers are weighed down on one end with a rusty pipe along with a few other odds and ends

This one should withstand the possible upcoming snow storm and weather we’ve been promised this weekend!

To find out more about my first ‘bundle’, visit here.

*stay tuned for periodic updates on both*

  2. You have been BUSY!!!! 2 things for Seth’s project AND all these posts!!!! I just managed to get my rock challenge pic online – a day late(!) and spent hours putting new things on Etsy – I love everything you put up on your blog – but don’t have the energy to comment on each one!!LOL

  3. Patty, So glad you come over to visit and left a comment. I hope you will come again.

  4. I truly wish I had energy to be involved, too.

  5. Ah! One would hope that the rusty angel will “weep” all over your papers with nice effect. I need to do some of this disintigration stuff. I LOVE decayed stuff. You can’t just buy it at Hobby Lobby (my criteria for why to acquire something).

  6. I really have the itch to hop on board this or at least do my own. With my luck it will become a mouse nest or filled with bird poo!

  7. Another great bundle. It will be so interesting to see the differences in the process for both bundles on May 1!

  8. This looks like a relly interesting project, looking forward to the results! : D
