Katrin’s Travel swap has us traveling to Cologne, Germany this time around.
When I was a teenager my favorite scent was 4711 Eau de Cologne; so refreshing and pleasant. When I graduated from high school, my Oma and Tante Inge took me to Germany for a couple of weeks (Inge, who is only six years older, and I spent a weekend in Rome too, which is another story). One of the places I really wanted to visit was the Glockengasse and have my photo taken in front of the 4711 building
my favorite scent of late is African Tea Rose Oil
I painted the background of my postcard and stamped it with a B Line Design stamp, added German book text, along with various images, an old German postage stamp and embossed with gold around the edges.
Next stop is New Orleans, you too can play along, sign up closes on 15 June

Wonderful Cologne-Card, Patty !
I didn´t know that somebody in USA know something about “4711″. That was the favourite eau de cologne from my grandma

Oh Patty, you know that 4711 is a scent out of my past and I still enjoy the scent. Loved your story too. Great memory for this absolutely beautiful mornng in Virginia.
This is wonderful. Great composition. Love it.
What a smile you gave me when I saw this…This was always in my grandparents home and when I received a bottle in my teens I thought I was in heaven! Also your artwork is so beautiful and perfect for this!
4711 was my first perfume as a girl, that and ‘Charlie’ I think! I acquired both from a stall at the fair!Mx
I´ll never forgot that someone gave me a tiny set of playing cards when I´ve been living in Cologne. The reason was that a bottle of 4711 had leaked in the purse the cards were in – and I´ve never been able to get rid of that smell, so I threw them away many years later …
