Gothic Arches this week is all about “Marie Antoinette”, a topic I thoroughly enjoy!
It is a challenge to come up with something that has not been done with Marie, as she is such a popular gal
….. I enjoyed giving her tiny blue wings to help her fly.
The fluffy pink feathers at the top of my arch are part of a fishing fly (with the hook still attached).
I had picked up this package at a junk shop (I think they may be handmade, don’t know alot about fishing stuff, just that the feathers looked nice)….goes to show you just never know what might be the perfect ingredient for your mixed media creation

Gorgeous, Patty. Love the addition of the flies. I have hand tied a few but find it too tedious. My DH ties them for both of us to use for fly fishing. Last winter he tied 110,000 flies, some of which will be used for our fall flyfishing trip to the White River. I’ve used a few in art too.

You’ve certainly added special touches to your arch today, Patty, its gorgeous! Must admit I’ve ‘pinched’ a few things from my partner’s fishing tackle box for my art!

I cracked up about the fishing supplies. Sounds like me. We will use any supply we can in our art work, won’t we?

I love your arch! It is very different! That is one of my favorite pictures of MA! She looks so innocent- do you know she was seven when that portrait was painted? Amazing! Great arch! I love the fishing lure! I never would have thought to use that! Thank you for participating!

This arch is brilliant and I love the (slight) irreverance of this Marie. The feathered fly hooks are brilliant and your use is so inventive!
