that said … here it is…..this assemblage would not give me rest and then it flowed effortlessly

  1. Very moving, touching, and spiritual. You did a great job with this piece of work. Your thoughts are tender and loving with a mother’s touch and’ yes, only a mother has that touch. God bless.

  2. You manage to get so much across in the simplest of ways.

  3. And, I looked again and noticed the barbed wire heart – that alone says so much!!!

  4. Ya know, Patty, I find this, of all the stunning pieces you create, to be the most ‘resonating in creative truth’. The ideas of impermance, mother love AND mother ocean (smile), truth and beauty, all married into a wholeness that reflects your odyssey…I am in awe of your process, your bravery, and, quite honestly, of the discipline it takes to dive deep and come up with a pearl (‘what the oyster calls a tumor, we perceive as a pearl’)…disintegration is another name for a new beginning…

  5. You certainly brought your pieces together in a lovely and moving way. Never having been a mother, this piece touched my heart. This definitely doesn’t look like your normal art, but it sure hits the nail on the DisCo concept.

  6. So very poignant and beautiful! You did make something ‘wonderful’ with your DisCo items.
    Well done!

  7. Your words and art work are all very moving, just lovely and thoughtful!

  8. love the Fromm quote and the barbed wire heart. awesome work straight from your heart to ours.

  9. I love the heart in there!

  10. I really get where you are coming from. I have only one child, but she has been many.

  11. very touching Patty, boh your words and your art…jenxo

  12. Such a piece of art truly from the heart.

  13. love the heart shape you made with the barbed wire, the symbolic of your piece is so touching.

  14. Moving, to say the least. I just knew there would be shells :)

  15. o patty this is so sweet it brings tears to my eyes…you have really expressed motherhood to a tee…

  16. well, few words here….erich fromm a great lead…and oh, yes, the focus on the play, not the product, another little battle many share…good to see your ‘heartfelt’ outcome…and that great orange lantern again. best to you.

  17. A mother’s love is unconditional. And, if we are truly blessed, so is our children’s.

  18. oh ~*~Pattie…tearing up…this is beautiful. The words, the art…and speaking with your inner self, allowing yourself to play. It really is freeing in a sense. So much love here, so much strength as well!

  19. hello patty :)
your words brought tears to my eyes! lyrical, heartfelt and immensely moving … your art embodied that love perfectly.
    peace and hugs,
    luthien.

  20. What a truly wonderful piece of art……straight from your heart. You are amazing…..

  21. Wow, Pattie, one of the most moving pieces I’ve seen in this collaboration. The best art comes from the heart.

  22. Patty this is truly a work of art, your words and thoughts are so important to the piece. As an artist the components speak for themselves, as a mother the words hit home, as a person I think how could anyone not be left without a moment to reflect on the power of this piece. Thank you for this. Christen

  23. wonderful piece of H…art

  24. Shivers down my spine… beautiful!

  25. Exquisite! Simply exquisite! I am fascinated by the whole process and seeing it start to finish but the finished piece, oh it is marvelous!

  26. this is beautiful, and very touching! thank you so very much for sharing.

  27. I smiled and also had a little cry at the same time. Your art work spoke to my very soul and made my heart ache. I’m new at this mothering business (my son is nearly 16months old) and I can’t believe how flat my world was before I had him. Now it wrenches at my heart knowing that one day I will have to let him go physically, but know also, that he will always be “mine”. Does that make sense? I think I just have to look at your final piece to know that it does.

Really touching Patty. Thank you for such an amazing contribution to our collaboration.

  28. toujours aussi magique !

  29. Very spiritual, moving work of art, you really did dig deep on this piece and you made it so special :) I love the quotes too Patty.

  30. Very touching how you have incorporated your sons….

  31. Very, very nice piece of work to incorporate someone so special. Love the roll of paper that looks like it’s been waxed. A little doll (your son) at rest. The quotes are great. I hadn’t read the one by Erich Fromm, but indeed that’s what mothers have to do: hold them close and encourage them at the same time to grow away from you. Beautiful – Jeanne p.s. thanks for commenting on my blog.

  32. Patty, this is gorgeous. You always manage to touch the deepest parts of your viewers

  33. gosh, i can’t even find any words……..this piece just knocked the wind right out of my sails. you express so much with such tiny little pieces…you make magic. and this: to not focus on the outcome…but to play…create and pay no mind to the “will it be good enough” monster…was exactly what i needed to be told today. thank you patty.

  34. very nice! so much fun to see how everyone worked with this project. great job putting together the reveal and the explanation of the finished piece-

  35. Haven’t had time to browse in awhile. But, here I am. Loving all your art. Hubby is regal looking. And this barb wire heart creation is just too fabulous. What a thing for your sons. Love it.

  36. I love what you have created here, and the story of your sons and the gift of being a mother. Very moving… thank you, Roxanne

  37. Good work and meaningful results from the original.

  38. This is so poignant. And simply…beautiful.

  39. Strong and meaningful!

  40. Wonderful and moving Patty, very special

  41. I love that you kept the words ‘no worries’ and the quote you used that is so true and perfect. I am pleased you got such a treasured piece from the project.

  42. A truly heartfelt piece.

  43. Amazing piece. So evocative, moving, and thought-provoking, yet serene.

  44. When you said this: I was a bit stuck moving forward to the next step here…wanting this to be something…..wonderful…..if I have learned anything….it’s to not focus on the outcome…but to play…create and pay no mind to the “will it be good enough” monster …, I thought “this is my greatest challenge.” I love how you were able to incorporate the energies and inspiration of your children in this piece. Lovely.

  45. I have goose bumps….

  46. Wonderful! So rich and deep! :) Thanx for sharing.
