our back porch along with the garden area all around it is such a happy place … day and night …
spring … summer … fall and winter too
one of my favorite things is to sit out back and listen to the sounds of summer … fountains tinkling … crickets chirping
… everything looks better by candlelight !
… with its mystical twinkling glow
and then there is the magic of moonlight … have you ever taken a moonlight “bath” … no water needed … just bask in the radiant glow of moonbeams shining all around you
“How sweet the moonlight sleeps upon this bank; here will we sit, and let the sounds of music creep in our ears; soft stillness and the night become the touches of sweet harmony.” ~William Shakespeare

Patty; what a soothing and beautiful post! Thank you! Oh; I could sit out on your porch for days and nights on end! Also; thanks for the heads-up on the giveaway……………..have a joyful day! xxoo Marilyn
I’m blushing…
thank you from the bottom of my heart…
although this simple “thank you” seems not good enough to express what I really mean.
Oh, Patty — these are fabulous photos and how I just want to crawl in and settle there with you for awhile, enjoying that beautiful moon, a lovely evening. I feel that way about sitting on the cottage porch. Isn’t there always something about a porch…?
A beautiful post and thank you for sharing the lovely coziness of your porch. It is warming up here now and we too are enjoying the sounds of summer!
What a perfect spot! I would love to sit there and gaze up at that beautiful moon! How enchanting!
Are fireflies twinkling, too? We seem to see them at intervals…not all nights.
I see the full moon from the bathroom windows across the field…beautiful fotos..thanks for sharing.
Your porch seems like the most wonderful place to be in. It looks very inviting, and I’m sure you would be the lovliest company
A beautiful and romantic place, dear Patty!
I understand you well. There I would feel comfortable too. Perfect for relaxing!
we did this last night (hubby and I) it’s the only peace we seam to get on the street now! lol
Love Dawn xx
Candle light and the moon – nothing better!!! Fireflies always mean the beginning of summer to me – we grow them huge out here in the country!!!LOL
I love candle light…. so calming and soothing for quiet contemplation. Imagine and Live in peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
Beautiful night ever !
Peace always..

Lovely…
cozy porch!! xo
I would love to sit quietly there watching fireflies & the moon. …lovely.
When hubby does a transatlantic crossing he says the moon at night over the sea is breathtaking….he once saw Dolphins race the boat at night & wrote to us that they looked like phosporescant torpedoes shimmering in the moonlight.
Wonderful blog and even better photos, Love that moon and it was still waiting for me this morning at 5 a.m.
What a wonderful post. I wish I lived closer and could sit there with you.
What memories that back porch brings…haven’t seen it at night but it is just as beautiful…very neat place to find peace. Thanks for sharing.
Oh Patty, I want a porch!! one just like yours! what a dreamy post. Mxx
Not sure how I missed this post, but it was a real treat to see your lovely back patio. It is really beautiful in the moon- and candle-light. Thanks for the link, too. I am in total love with Druga’s blog.
Such a beautiful place
I saw that same moon–as we sat at a fire, it came up over the horse corral, greeting us through the trees–so special!
aww beautiful Patty, wish we had fireflies here,[we have the blowy variety![blowflies!] i have seeen them in Europe tho, soo pretty…
its not the same sitting out in the evenings here , mozzies [ and they were huge this year] and insects , it sort takes the appeal off when you have to spray yourself with chemicals !! xxx
I’m with you all the way on sitting outside and listening to the night sounds. We have a pond just below our property and it gets so loud with all the bullfrogs croaking, the cicades screeching, the crickets singing…meanwhile the fireflies just dance around oblivious to it all. But those nasty mosquitoes are bad this year. There always has to be someone who spoils the fun, huh?! Your post is inspiring me to beef up our little spot with some fresh candles! Xo, Sue
I want to sit on your porch with you Patty….that would be lovely.
We have fairy lights in our conservatory and around our blue garden shed every day of the year (the neighbours think we are a bit strange
what a marvelous night for a moon dance…
it’s me again…
thank you ever so much for “promoting” my little blog.
so many new people came to have a look and it led to so many fantastic art discoveries for myself.
you are a very special person. but you know that, right?
Beautiful Post! I’m yawning and yes, the night is magic in the moonlight! Always has been and will be!
