Watermelon Tea

Happy Tea Tuesday … the last Tuesday in August … already …

one summer I hardly ate any watermelon … when the leaves turned dry and crunchy and a nip returned to the air … I was kind of sorry about that … and vowed to not let that happen again …

this summer has been a bumper year for watermelon … perhaps the extreme heat is good for something because they have been extra sweet and juicy AND … $3.99 for a seedless melon seems a fair price … in these parts anyway … some markets ask 6.99 for one …

while a wide array of produce can be had all year round … we do enjoy eating locally grown …

I got excited setting my tea table … a fork ? … fingers work just right for eating watermelon ;)

* * * I am having a giveaway to celebrate my 1,213th blog post … stop by if you have a minute * * *

there are lots of fun tea parties to visit over at Kimmie’s Art in Red Wagons … won’t you join us

  1. I am not a watermelon lover but you certainly do make it enticing! Happy T Tuesday and, yes, I will join you for a cuppa! hugs

  2. That’s a wonderful shot of local color and produce. It’s all brown here, and I’ve not had any watermelon, but lots of cantaloupe earlier in the spring. I hope your weather is truly as lovely as the photos because your table is simply delightful. Happy tea today, dear friend.

  3. Lovely table setting, it looks so inviting, you may need more than two chairs when we all stop by! Happy T to you dear friend, enjoy the watermelon and tell us what fabulous meals you will make with all of those fresh veges! Hugs, Christen

  4. Gorgeous table setting…lovely herbs as well as mouth watering watermelon.
    I’ll have to go shopping for seedless. Abundance of tomatoes has loaded the refridgerator with soup, spaghetti sauce and okra gumbo…most from my small plot. Attempt at growing tiny watermelon is large pot not successful.
    Let me know if you need more feathers.

  25. Oh how sweet! Love your little outdoor setting…I can just see you sitting there on that pink polka-dotted chair with watermelon juice dripping off your fingers and leaving spots on your linens!!!! Your post has me hungry for some watermelon. I always use my melon baller and fill a big bowl with them….my boys will consume a whole melon in one sitting if I do the work of making the little balls. ADORE that parfait glass filled with yellow strawflower heads! Such a fun post, Patty! Xo, Sue
