The Mushroom Faerie

1mushroom-faerieThe new Gothic Arch challenge is all about “Garden Fairies”.

I just could not resist turning this lovely Swiss lady into my Mushroom Fairy. The image is from a repro postcard dated 1912.

Her wings (Maple tree seeds I believe) were collected on the sidewalk in Wash DC; they are such a beautiful pink.

The moss and lichen were gathered along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

There are SO many different kinds of mushrooms. These poisonous red and whites have always been one of my favorite ‘looking’ fungi!

“Nature alone is antique and the oldest art a mushroom.” ~Thomas Carlyle
