Pink Saturday: She Sells Seashells

Many years ago I purchased this lovely seashell wreath at a craft fair.  I was at the craft show to ‘sell’ things, but you know how that goes 😉

Hearts have always been a favorite thing of mine and one made of shells…….all the better!  It goes beautifully with my mermaid collection.

seashellwreatLast February we were lucky enough to spend some time on Sanibel Island in Florida.  These same pink scallop shells (along with many many more colors) were everywhere!  We really enjoyed combing the beach for treasures and it was a real feast of a wide variety of shells there!

  3. Hi Patty,

I just love your shell heart…I collect shells all the time, whenever I am at a beach that is. I brought a bunch back from Sanibel as well, we went in Nov. for a wedding.

  5. Beautiful pink shells. When my kids were little we would go to Pismo beach and they would find a lot of shells, there just aren’t that many there anymore. Not as pretty as the ones you have there though. Happy Pink Saturday.

  17. I love the heart-of-shells, Patty. I’m a California beach girl and love wandering for hours collecting shells. I’ll have to share a pic of one of my shell-framed mirrors sometime soon.

I rent a house to use as my office/studio space, and it’s decorated in shabby beach style pulled together quickly when I first set it up. Lots of shells in baskets and surrounding candles on plates, and a nice variety of beachy photos and prints, all mixed in with overstuffed creamy white sofas (3 in all, none match, all from local consignment stores), lots of baskets, and all of my favorite things. And, currently, all under a foot or two of eBay items that need to be listed so I can reclaim my personal retreat space :o)

Right here on my desk at home, I have a sweet pink heart print from Ikea … a heart shape made from two scallop shells posed side-by-side. The print is really a 5″ x 5″ notecard, one of the ones from a pack of 5 cards with shell pics. If you have an Ikea nearby, they probably have this set of cards.

Enough rambling, thanks again for stopping by, and have a great week!

    hugs,

    Victoria

  19. The pink shell wreath is intriguing. I like the layers of different shells that make such a lovely heart – it’s certainly not a piece for glancing at – it really offers much to take in visually.
