playing tourist for half a day

Meeting friends in Old Towne (Alexandria) for dinner gave us the opportunity over the weekend to see a few holiday sights in nearby Washington, DC

unionstationUnion Station had three of these huge and beautiful wreaths hanging over the entrance to the train station

washmoonument2and that gorgeous moon popped up near  the Washington Monument …… not easily captured on camera.  It was breathtaking and you could see so many details with the naked eye…..guess we need to travel with the tripod !

  7. These photos are spectacular! I am watching the John Adams series that HBO put out last year(?) and looking at these photos puts it all into perspective. I’m sure being there is breath taking!
