Mini Wooden Chunkies

These mini pieces all came about after coming across a piece of rectangular shaped wood inside a cigar box.  I have had ATC size wooden chunkies on my mind for a swap over at the PW Forum.  I should have a couple of those to show you soon.

Back to the cigar blocks; my sweetie cut the piece into three sections, so that each measure approximately 1.75 x 1.50 inches and .75 inches thick (4.44 cm x 3.81 cm, 1.90 cm thick) that’s  “Chester” on the right.

The center pointy house is cut from the top of a survey stake, you can imagine my delight when my husband surprised me with that!  It measures 1.5 x 2.75 inches (3.81 cm x 6.98 cm).  The butterfly girl on the left is a piece of the stake turned the other way.  The little Paper Whimsy faces fit perfectly.  The door on the back of the mini stake house is also from PW.   I added the wings.

A little fiddle factor involved, because of their size, but so much fun!   I sanded and gessoed them first.  One of my gessos is kind of runny and it worked well for this purpose.  I sanded again lightly and added inks and some stamping, along with some peeled napkin pieces and various bits of paper……..my mini village is beginning to take shape 😉

the backdrop is a weathered birdhouse that no one has ever lived in

your chunkies are so beautiful, and I love the background you use for your pictures. I wish I had a space like this for mine! (but I don’t, so I settle for white).

which reminds me I asked Claudio to make me a small lightbox… in january, LOL!
