Collage Box Project #1

the talented and ever inventive LaWendula of Germany started a really neat project back in March

here is what she came up … a box with bits of this and that would make its way around the globe … each person would take 12 or 20 items out of the box and add 12 or 20 items back into the box sending it on its way … this was so popular … a second collage box is making its way around the world too

I was headed out to the grocery store today and checked the mailbox … I got so excited I had to come inside and open the package which arrived from Lisa (sorry I do not have a link) as she said … from almost down the street here in Virginia.  I Love the stamps on the envelope!   I took a quick look and decided the grocery store could wait until tomorrow

above are the items I removed from the box

and the items I added

this all happened very quickly … I did not give any thought to what I would do with anything … just picked what spoke to me …

LaWendula also made up a cute little sign in book

I used a new postage stamp that I had been saving … my last one

I will take the box to the post office tomorrow and send it on its way to Joy in Ohio AND get busy on creating something with my collage box goodies!

many thanks  to LaWendula for another great collaboration … her Paper Swaps are such fun and very popular too!

Love the chinese calligraphy stamps on envelope, it’s kind of poem and also the lovely stuff you put in for the next.

  3. You seemed to pick almost everything that was new!!LOL The elephant was new (or I would have grabbed himLOL) I put the blue receipt in there. I also tied the box with the twine, I got nervous it would not stay shut!!!
I better get busy and put my pix up. I have already used some of my new papers in some new swap projects!!

Life is still a bit crazy here..but we are getting projects done slowly and the house feels more like a home (and not a war zone) each day! 🙂
Hope to art over the summer more when I am on break from school…and then be a better blog buddy too! 🙂

I also chose my pieces without too much thinking and my collage…somehow made itself and…there is so much meaning in it for me.

isn’t LaWendula amazing to inspire and link us all in such a creative way?

p.s. I really like the bottle cap with the quote you added.

  14. What a fabulous and fun idea. I love the items you chose. The Raven Lager and Lady Moon Farm ephemera you added really caught my eye. Raven is my granddaughters name and I wrote a poem titled Lady Moon. I’d love to participate in a swap like this sometime. Hey Katie, I’m in Kansas, count me in if you choose to start one.

  23. What a FUN idea! Say, I noticed after you scrapped the grocery store trip you mentioned later that you’d be going to the post office but NO mention of the grocery store. For Mr. Magpie’s sake, just thought I’d remind you. Ha ha!
