more WOOL
inspired by a July/August 2008 Cloth Paper Scissors article by Kelli Perkins … I finally tried my hand at some felted ATCs
I started with a blue wool skirt that I washed and dried hot hot hot … next … inspired by Linda Vincent … again and again … I punched various wool bits into the skirt wool (and my fingers too … ouch!)
these finger protectors can be found at the stationary store and do help some
I cut the background into artist trading card (ATC) size and started to embellish
I have wanted to try making a free form flower ever since I received another friend Linda’s lovely wool felted pin in a swap
next I really want to try my hand at WET wool felting …
thanks to each of you that share so freely and inspire me each and every day … speaking of sharing … Caterina is having a gorgeous giveaway … pop by her Bell’Antico blog for a chance to be the lucky winner
Lovely! Good job! 🙂

I think these are just beautiful I love the effect I wouldn’t have a clue where to start though and also think the end result is worth yr sore finger lol (that flower is just perfect)

I have been looking at Goodwill to rescue old woolen sweaters and skirts to add to my hand felting assortments. I love working in woolens when it is just beginning to get cool and crisp. You have captured a sense of wonder and soften beautiful textures. Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

Lovely, Patty. You remind me I have lots of things to needle felt! Never tried ATCs, though!
Catching up on blogs after four days away plus another three of running to stay in place and catch up at work! I’ll try to comment on all; you know I’ll look at them!

Patty, they are oh so pretty, i love that you recycled a sweater. I always find it shrinks on me when im punching and cut mine right at the finish. you might be bit gentler than me!
those flowers are gorgeous too…hope you have some fingers left. i do mine on my lap too , thats not good either!

Oh you creative little thing you…one day it’s this, the next it’s something equally as FUN. These are deliciously FUN. You are just plain FUN, Patty!!!
I know enough about felting to stick on the end of a pin, but I have high hopes to change that one day. However, when I bought a few supplies, one of the things I purchased was this brush-looking mat that you poke into….would that help save your lovely fingers?

OUCH. I know that “stuck” feeling.
My friend Dana makes these little gems and they are time consuming, but so beautiful when finished. I love your bird’s nest. Is there anything you won’t make a nest out of? Love, love, love it. But of course, those flowers are totally awesome, too.

Between soap, wool felting ATCs and dying paper – there is NO way to keep up with you!!! Are you sure there are enough hours in the day for you to create? LOL

I have two afghans I tried to shrink but they shrunk in “squares.” I also picked up some wool coats at Goodwill but now wonder if these will work…if my machine or dryer are hot enough.
