feeling the twinkle…

…and not any too soon

next Friday is Christmas eve…oh my…

I am enjoying my new twinkly turquoise tree that I did not know I needed…it just jumped off the shelf at me…

after our doll head Christmas saga last year…

I thought it best to have my own little altered tree this year…

it is 3 feet tall (91.44 cm)…

we have another traditional tabletop tree with a twinkling star on top…

trying to keep things simple this year…

credits:

Photo #1: Doll head ordered on line…it is a petite addition to my other two special doll heads…she has the prettiest eyelashes…you can tell by the tip of her nose that she was well Loved…I’d like to think she is honored to be the angel on top of my altered tree instead of being discarded…red Christmas plates on either side of my favorite St Nicholas plate from my dear friend Lennie

Photo #2: shell ornie from a tin chock full of treasures that Pat shared with me when she moved to the country

Photo #4: precious Russian doll ornament that my boys surprised me with one Christmas

Photo #5: Queen Bee Linda’s wonderful tart pan ornie for our jingle junkle ornament swap

Photo #6: my Mom’s precious ice skater bear (4.5 in tall) that she made from scratch…the arms and legs are jointed…she sewed each tiny bead on by hand…she even made the ice skates!

Photo #7: one of my moo cards…the bling eye is a necklace from the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore…they have THE greatest gift shop…I did not make the snowman dome…but have been playing with bleached tiny trees…also thanks to inspiration by Linda

Photo #8: Linda’s puffy stars (still want to give those a whirl) in an old plastic party favor basket that I picked up at a junk/antique shop

I have the Andre Bocelli album and it is beautiful at any time but especially at this time of year. Such an incredible voice he has.

Merry Christmas to you and your family.

  6. ((Big sigh!!)) OK! I must admit, even though this tree has the baby doll head on top, I DO love your altered tree, Patty!!! And, I agree – I don’t think it’ll be a repeat of the Christmas traumatization that occurred to your son last year! LOL!!! Holiday Hugs, Terri xoxox

I love your tree! It is wonderful. We, too, have a body-less doll on our tree, though it isn’t the tree topper. Love the eyeball and many other decorations!

  13. Every little detail just flows together perfectly and that little skating bear by your Mom is the best!!! How special. And your music by Andre Bocelli adds just the right touch to every tiny detail you’ve so lovingly given us. I, too, can look about my home and see a few things made by your hands and that makes me so happy as well. But, I need more time. I’ll be up late tonight and tomorrow as well. Christmas Love to You and JJJ, Lennie

Very adventurous with your turquoise tree and love all the decs!
Admiring the swans and all the other bits – mine is a real mish mash gathered over the years, but it’s meaningful to me and that’s what counts.

  24. Your tree is adorable – really like the doll topper! I really enjoyed seeing some of your special ornaments – one of the first things I do when I visit anyone over the holidays is to ‘inspect’ their tree and ask for the stories of the special ornaments. Great fun!

  28. Oh, Patty — I am so in awe! This is such a stunner — Adore the doll head! Do you mind if I borrow that idea (with credit, of course). I have one I won from Sandra Evertson, which stares at me in my art room. Better to stare off the top of the tree.

This is so magical. It’s good to be able to check in with you, at such long last.
