some of you have been on this Bluebell walk with me before…
both the cherry blossoms and the bluebells were early this year
by a good three weeks at least…
we amaze ourselves at just how many photos we manage to snap
at each and every visit …
each time we are charmed anew by the wondrous display of blooms at Bull Run Regional Park…
the forest changes from year to year…
but the magnificent pinks and blues and purples and greens
along with the bones of the forest never fail to delight us…
this year on our sunset visit to the park we found the paths were much drier
than the slip n slide ones we experienced last year…
here is what Mr Magpie was on bended knee to photograph with his fancy camera lens…

So very pretty & dainty little flowers. They are different from the bluebells here in the UK which are just coming out – lots of blossom around though.

I am enjoying my walk with you thru the famous Virginia Bluebells. Wonder-filled photos. I must check out my Bluebells in the backyard and see if they are blooming as well. A lovely visual walk for me this morn before heading off to work.

A wonderful walk and absolutely delightful! Here in the South of England the first bluebells started to flower two weeks ago which is also far too early … but I so enjoy this time of the year. Thank you for taking us on this walk!

Thank you for sharing your walk through the bluebells! I’m glad you had a less mucky walk this year. The flowers are absolutely gorgeous, as is the forest surrounding them. Mr. Magpie took a fantastic photo of the individual bluebell. I’m anxious to try dyeing those beautiful colors.

I’ve NEVER seen a bluebell in my life, except in your wonderful photos from year to year. I especially enjoyed the mosaic and how you positioned the cup in the tree trunk. I only wish there was a place nearby my home that wasn’t flat prairie I could travel with a tea cup. You have such amazing places to take yours and such wonderful photos in the end. Love these.

I’m so enjoying these forests walks with my friends in the northern hemisphere!!
The bluebells amaze me, we never see them in sheets like that – I dream of seeing these one day and taking many photos too!
Last year I lay on the ground in Cornwall Park to photo the snowdrops – with many weird glances from passersby, wondering why this strange lady would go to such lengths.
I keep saying to myself (it seems) “normal folk just don’t GET IT poor dears!!!
The result of Mr M’s posturing was rewarded with the most beautiful image of all – SPECIAL!

That is just so extraordinarily gorgeous… those bluebells are breathtaking and the travelling tea cup is a perfect foil for all that vivid extraordinary colour… you are lucky to be able to be there, but thanks for sharing it with those of us who live on the other side of the world…xx

I remember the bluebells from last year… are they there again? Ohmy, time flies! Love the teacup, your mister did a great job – I hope his bones/knee (joints?) don’t hurt… one man with a hurt leg is enough!

Scream out loud! You know that I love, love, love these bluebells {esp. how you present them so beautifully!}. I so agree that the bones of the forest only add to the enchantment of this special place. The VA bluebell bulbs I planted never came up and I tended to them so carefully. GA clay soil I’m guessing. And tell Mr. Fancy Lens his shot is superb:)
