today’s mail took me completely by surprise…
what to my delight to find my “Mother Nature” creation on page 141 in the Gallery Section of the Winter 2013 issue of SEW Somerset…
here is the paragraph I submitted with the piece back in January 2011 (see why I forgot about it)…
Mother Nature
5 x 7.5”
Layer various cotton fabrics, netting and old lace along with silk and rayon ribbons and stitch them onto watercolor paper. I also use glue stick now and then to adhere bits of fabric. The image from Paper Artsy (http://www.paperartsy.co.uk/) is stamped onto paper with black permanent ink and stitched onto the layered fabrics. Embellish with green leaf ribbon…my blossoms are from a vintage hat (they are fabulous to pick apart and use as accents)…the gorgeous stitched on vintage button was a gift from a friend (thank you Caterina).
I can see why they edited it, my tenses were all over the place LOL…
this piece was mailed in at the same time as my “Cherry Pie” fabric postcard that was published in the Winter 2012 issue of SEW Somerset here…
I had every intention of buying the 2013 Winter issue because the talented Catarina of La Dolce Vita has a lovely article that I wanted to see up close and personal…
another talented and sweet friend Jean of Bluebirds Living in the Meadow is a cover girl and has a couple page spread in the upcoming issue of a very special issue of Somerset Studio’s Artists’ Cafe…
