often I look at food and think how beautiful it is…
*can you find the heart in my photo collage above…haven’t had the ♥ to cook it yet*
a recent trip to our local Farmer’s Market inspired me to create a mandala on a dessert plate…
it all started with the yummy currants which are not something we see all that often here…
a ring of nice fresh blueberries…
a slice of apple crowned with one of the few Johnny Jump ups still blooming here…
joining Dawn of Girl Unwinding for Mandala Monday again this week…
I saw it!! The potato! Your mandala is so pretty…love all the circles. I have to tell you that when I was little I called John jump ups “teddy bear flowers”. If you turn a blossom upside down you’ll see a teddy bear…or at least I do. 😉

Food is a natural place to go with mandalas. The bright jewel tones of fruits and vegetables and of course they started with a flower, lol
I think currants are one of the most beautiful of all fruits! their translucency is radiant. What a gorgeous plate to present it on, as well.
Happy Mandala Monday dear Patty!!

It’s beautiful and looks delicious! Your beets look delicious, too. And I love your sweet little potato heart. Maybe you could use it for a stamp before you clean it off and cook it.

First, Halle, I see the teddy bear too, cute!
Second, I saw the heart too, took a minute but there it is, awesome
Ok, wow, how pretty this is, so bright and happy! I love the plate too. I went mandala crazy last week as you know and actually used food for one of mine too. Thankfully no more encounters with a snake, ha!
Lovely visiting you again, my mandala is posted too. Here’s the link if you need it http://everydaymemorieswithprojectlife.blogspot.com
Have a great day!

Leave it to you to choose food for this perfect mandala. I so enjoyed seeing what you can accomplish with fresh food. Love it. Like the others, I also saw the potato. it really caught my eye, too.
Have fun eating your spoils (OOPS, I mean mandala).

Hey dear Patty. Just read your comment. That stuff is all over my yard. Got two small vines one year from my next door neighbor. It was given to her and she thought of me, since I was trying to make a front garden where no grass will grow. Now it’s taken over and I’m trying to “weed” it out. I was told it’s called “vinca vine.” Never heard it called privet before. But thanks for yet another name for it.

My mouth is watering from looking at your gorgeous pictures. How perfect that you found a heart shaped potato. Is the mosaic the plate is sitting on a tray or a table top or something else? Whatever it is, it’s beautiful. Did you make it?

I understand this. Often, I slice something and I see the most beautiful patterns in the food. Proves we should really look at everything. We miss a lot if we don’t do that.

Wednesday of the month from 2-4PM due to Janet’s new job. We will not meet this month but will in September…hope you can join us sometime. Miss your smiling face. Dot

Perhaps you could slice the potato into several hearts to bake and serve to special people with their dinner? Yummy mandala.

Sally and I were out and about today, and I saw a bush that looked a lot like the vinca vine that has taken over my yard. These were shrubs/bushes and about 3 feet tall. Now I know what your privet is. Never saw it before. But, as you’ll see when you visit my T post, my whole yard is filled with vinca vine.

If that wasn’t so picture perfect I would be asking you if I could dive in and have a nibble.
I adore fruit (as a vegetarian you would imagine I love vegetables but it is fruit which always wins for me) and this plate is so glorious.

I don’t know if you’ve thought of this – but your hands also form a heart, significant perhaps because what you create so obviously comes from your heart.
