Needle Thread Cloth‘s August challenge is Tea Time Stem Stitch…
I have been having lots of fun lately spreading plaster on linens and laces and distressing mirrors (thanks to special friends again and again)…
a bit of layering and machine stitching along with touches of hand embroidery (stem stitch and french knots) on vintage map and book papers (thank you Carmen Dyson)…
you have all month to stretch your creative muscles and join in the fun over at Needle Thread Cloth…

Plaster? I was just looking at a plaster piece I made a year or so ago. What an incredible coincidence.
I love this piece. Not sure how you got your sewing machine through plaster, but I love this piece. It is gorgeous. I really like the layering you achieved, and the image sets the lace and fabric off just perfectly.

Wandering through your journal OH MY GOODNESS, what an array of incredible pages, the zen-tangle, aaaawesome, if I had to pick a favorite, that’s almost impossible :O) might be Friendship, your last page really moved me and the little squares gorgeous. Glorious and so inspirational. Plaster is something I have not applied to textiles, I do love the texture Gesso provided but plaster, which type do you use? Another question …. how do you achieve the distressed mirrors, do you use a solution or scrape the backing off the mirror? In the past I’ve tried scraping to poor results.
Just love your window display!
