Dinosaur Board Book Peeled

the dinosaur book I have been working on since July…

Stronger than you know board book pages

now has all of the inside pages completed…Stronger than you know board book pages (1)

without consciously trying the words for my book pages have turned into a bit of flowing text that I will share with you after I complete the cover of the book…

Stronger than you know board book pages (2)

paint…torn papers…drywall mesh tape…washi tape…rubber stamping…computer generated text and a mystery girl surrounded by lotus blooms  that surfaced on my work table…

another “She-Art” spread for Art Journal Journey’s challenge theme this month…

  1. Wow Patty, it looks stunning! I love the colours you chose. They are so soft but still strong enough to emphasize the sentiment. Beautiful!

  12. I loved working on these books as a substrate, there is just something so inherently creative about it… perhaps it is the childlike energy already inherent in the book… your work is lovely and the texture is fantastic! xoxo

  13. This is just beautiful: the colours – so subtle yet full of impact, the image and the mesh. I have never altered a board book; I really must look out for some in charity shops and give it a try. Yours is such an inspiration, I love the shape and texture of it – wish I could see it irl. Thank you for sharing. Julie Ann xx

  15. This turned out so lovely. The colors and texture are yummy and I love the portrait of the girl. I like your use of the drywall tape. I have a couple of board books started, but I can’t seem to pick a theme for them. I’d love to get one done. Beautiful job.

  22. Amazing work, Patty. I love how you combine different textures and how all your pieces seem to have a certain different “mood”. It’s very creative what you did here with a child’s book.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and keeping up with me ❤

  24. Fascinating creation, Patty! I think the textures are amazing. Using a dinosaur book is something I would have never thought of. I’m still working on the book I brought to Angela’s the years ago when I met you and realized I didn’t know what I was doing. You must have thought I was full of it, too. So sorry!

  25. Only you could transform a dinosaur book into something so incredibly pretty and poetic.
Patty, I find those words are something that I needed to stop and read for my own personal reasons at the moment so for that alone I thank you.
This has certainly touched a chord with me.
