on the other side of my el corazón page I created this Frida page for the Art Journal Journey August challenge…
simple cut and paste collage with some light sanding and shading…
paint and bits of plaster stenciled tissue paper came in handy too…

Just delightful Patty. I’ve not thought of plaster-stencilled tissue. I’m off to make some. Thanks.

There is nothing simple relating to this.
Frida blends so beautifully into your background that I made the assumption that you had painted the whole scene.
There is a beautiful lushness to this yet also a sensitivity and that small area of texture is glorious.,

I’m learning SO much about Frida now that this AJJ challenge is on. This is simply stunning. I’ve not sanded images in so long, and this reminds me that I need to do it, because it really made all the difference in your collage.
I went to the grocery store today and avocados were $0.99 each at one store and $1.59 at another. I refuse to pay that much for one, so I’ll wait till they come down a bit. The last time I bought some was spring and they were a quarter each!
