this month Art Journal Journey’s challenge theme is “collage” which is something near and dear to my heart…
I have enjoyed collage since I was a young school girl…
my red rosin mono printed pages have been patiently waiting for more attention…
so with a bit of this and that close at hand I got busy…
the word Happiness had been mistakenly printed on top of a swan image but I had it tucked away in a box of images and it worked nicely here…
another image printed on cotton layered on top of some torn German lace curtain…
“Happiness depends upon ourselves.” -Aristotle
Gorgeous! And Aristotle had it so right!

Good Morning Patty,
I am 68 years old retired man from India, belonging to my native place Vizag (Visakhapatnam) state of Andhraprades.
I too enjoyed my School, college and university days with a happy student life from 1950’s to 1965.
I am very fortunate to see and witness my schools and convents in which I studied, still have that beauty, glamour and grace without the loss of originality, which were constructed during British rule in India.
Whenever I visit my native place, I always make it a point, to take enough time in visiting and roaming around all these beautiful places of sweet memories filled with teachers, classmates, staff and our relations.
Always my eyes get wet on seeing and replaying those days in my mind.
Those days are wonderful and innocent and I always feel pity for the present generation for not tasting and missing such beautiful days filled only with
LOVE, AFFECTION, PEACE, GRATITUDE, FAITHFILNESS, OBEDIENCE, DICIPLINE AND WHAT NOT ALL POSITIVE HARMONIOUS CULTURE AND BEHAVIOUR.
Thanks for reminding me of those lovely days.
God bless you and your family.
My blessings to you and your family.
With love and regards

When i saw the prompt at AJJ this month, I immediately thought of you. I knew it wouldn’t take you long to come up with something wonderful, even if it was from pieces close at hand. That’s what collage is all about, anyway, isn’t it? This two page spread is not just stunning, it is well balanced and the perfect calming color. Truly awesome.

While blue always makes me shudder, (maybe I drowned in a past life, lol?) I do love the layout you have done here! Aren’t old stamps such interesting things? Especially used ones – they always make me wonder who stuck them on and what hopes and thoughts went with the letter as it disappeared into the postal system.
Thanks for your kind comments on my collage – its lovely to ‘meet’ new blogs!!
