Elizabeth started a fun new monthly challenge this January which is nice since it is only once a month…
you can read all about it on her Altered Book Lover blog…
here is a blast from my art journaling past that I posted back in January 2008
“I am drawn to vintage everything, so these pages were a huge departure for me along with being a whole lot of fun.
The Britannica Junior encyclopedia pages make a wonderful canvas and receive paint very well.
One of the things that made these pages different for me was using images found in everyday magazines/publications.
“Inspired” would be on the left hand spread and “354 check” would be the right hand side of the book. Just above the number is a red label that says “Remove Before Flight”. It could be tricky flying with a peacock on your head!
“Enthusiasm is excitement with inspiration, motivation, and a pinch of creativity.” ~Bo Bennett
Wonderful!!! xox

I look forward to seeing past posts that I may not have seen. I have to agree with you that it would be tricky flying with a peacock on your head, but it sure would make a statement! 🙂

Hello Patty, what a fun idea Elizabeth had today. I just read hers and came to see yours. How awesome these pages are, great collaging and color!
I will see what I can rustle up next month if time to do this. I didn’t do anything crafty till just before meeting you ladies but I will try.
Happy New Year and Happy weekend!

Fun! You have a very creative mind. I am once again, as with every new year, trying to keep a daily journal. Would like to add all sorts of elements, and magazine cuts should be part of that. I do need to weed out all the magazines I’ve collected. Bit by bit, little by little. Best wishes, Tammy

The images you used are interesting and give the pages power.

2008 was just before I started blogging, so your pages are “new to me”. Had to laugh at the peacock on her head and the remove before flight tag. I do hope other join this challenge since it is only once a month. AND it is fun to sometimes look back at the paths we have taken.
Thanks for stopping by for my look back this month.

January 2008 , I don`t think we visited back then Patty , so it is fun and exiting to see something from so many years ago. This is bursting with colours and fun thinking, -I would prefer being on the back of the peacock when flying !! Hugs to you this saturday afternoon !

Different to what I associate with your style but Patty, you have carried this off with so effortlessly.
The peacock on the woman’s head is quite fabulous and the burst of colours on this spread is something to behold.
