feeling in a wintry mood with our first snowfall of the season here in Virginia …
I wanted to share and record a few more photos of our overnight stay on our way to visit our son for Thanksgiving last year in quaint Georgetown, Colorado …
the fact that it was snowing added heaps of charm in my book …
and because it was a Tuesday some of the businesses were closed so it was very peaceful…
Mr Magpie was sure that the snow blowing sideways at times also helped the little town appear quiet…
Georgetown is less than an hour west of Denver with a population of a little over one thousand which is quite spread out…
I found it photogenic at every turn…
and then there was our cozy room in the Swiss style chalet with a toasty corner fireplace and a hot tub on the back deck (make that a hot tub with snowy steps and icicles hanging from the cover…we wore hats and swimsuits and braved the cold wild blowing wind for a nice soak)…
included with our tour of the hotel…
was an explanation about a special wooden door on the inside of our room (below on the right)…
between specified hours in the morning we could expect a tap tap tap and then know to open the door and find our yummy continental breakfast tucked inside…
along with the cappuccinos we made using the in room coffee machine the flaky croissants (one plain and one chocolate!) and fresh fruit on those pretty dishes really hit the spot..
I would like to return one day to visit the historic cemetery … ride the scenic train and check on the big horn sheep again and we would definitely stay at the lovely Chateau Hotel Chamonix…

What a wonderful place to stay, but I fear you would NOT have gotten me in that hot tub, no matter what. Of course, the food looked delicious, and the mugs with “The End” showing were simply adorable.
I had NO idea I-70 had such beautiful views. Loved how you captured this beauty.
Thanks for sharing these wonderful images with us for T this Tuesday. And I would gladly take that blue bottle tree off your hands any time you want to get rid of it (grin).

what an absolutely charming place Patty! And you have captured it all so beautifully with your wonderful photos. What a wonderful visit you have given us. Since your photographs are always top notch, you should send them to the Chamber of commerce, in Georgetown and see if they would be interested in buying them for a calendar, or a travel broacher.

Hello and Happy T Day Patty! WOW, you find the neatest places to visit. How fun to see it through your eyes too, thank you so much for sharing it with us. That hot tub would make Sam very happy, he asks for one every year. The food sounds so good and the sights are delightful.

Amazing photos of a landscape, some would like to stay there forever. The Hotel is a dream. I had a look on the hotel’s homepage, but I can’t see a price, how much was it for a night? The breakfast would have been the right for me. Yummi! So nice that you have had such heavenly holidays.
