why is simplicity so complicated…

here are some pages in my gesso journal for the latest MOO “Circles” challenge (this is my first time joining in the challenge…all sorts of projects with or without Moos are accepted)…

lavender HEART

the Lavender sprig was marking some pages in my book so I decided to adhere it to the page using some gel medium and a word from my work table…

right pg

the tea cups are from a peeled napkin with some bits of gold paint added…

is simplicity

Simplify is my little word for 2015 (I have not yet figured out HOW to add it to my sidebar)… I find living a simple life to be quite challenging…

circle tools

I used the end of a pen dipped in black gesso and a Hero Arts dotted circle stamp for adding circles to my pages…

left pg

in real life my pages are white and cream colored… our cold winter light gave my photos a blueish look…

WHY

plaster stenciled onto vintage book paper… gesso… napkin… Golden Irridescent Gold paint… pressed Lavender sprig and a circle rubber stamp went into these pages…

final circle pages

cups and plates are circles too…

JUST GORGEOUS.. and yes… this is what I ask me day for day.. they learned us to do everything in life in a very complicated way.. and to learn the simplicity again is sooo difficult… I try hard and ask myself always.. can you make this simpler? 12. Loveliness and simplicity on these pages: beautiful simplicity, which is indeed always so much more complicated than we expect it is going to be! I love lavender so much, but I’ve never had the right soil to grow it! I love the way you have fixed it to the page and those pretty china tea-cups. xxx

  13. Patty it is gorgeous, I just love what you did here, I look at those teacups, and you know in the Netherlands those blue paints are so famous, so your spread just reminded me that once in school we need to paint in that style, just love it 🙂

  17. It seems funny that living simpler should be so hard, but it is for me, too. I think there are always so many things pulling me in so many directions, that I often don’t have time to ponder how to do this. For me, right now happiness is most important; I think the rest will follow. Happy weekend, Patty!
