Spring has sprung here in northern Virginia with a wonderful parade of blooms everywhere you turn (the nature photos here were all taken in our garden)…
some recent cooler temperatures helped keep the blossoms fresh and in place a little longer than in other years…
Mr Magpie is healing nicely after trigger finger surgery
and is getting some rest away from work while he’s on the mend (even the stick on message from a breakfast sandwich supported that) …
we are enjoying sitting out on our back porch again…
here’s wishing you a very Happy T Day along with everyone over at Elizabeth’s Altered Book Lover…
Lovely as always Dear Patty….such fond memories of your back porch….thank you….Judy

Simply stunning photos from your yard. Looks like you didn’t have to go far to find some wonderful shots of springtime. Seems you find beauty everywhere you look.
One of the problems I researched for my dissertation was tenosynovitis, part of the group of musculoskeletal disorders associated with (upper body) repetitive motion in the workplace. I’m glad Mr. Magpie is doing so well. From the sound of things, it appears his doctors got to his problem quickly enough that it didn’t do permanent damage. And yes, it’s very important to allow the finger to heal properly, or he will exacerbate the problem.
Your weather has benefited you, allowing so many spring plants to linger, while mine has taken a toll on the flowering plants in my yard. Your flowers are stunning, and I’m in LOVE with that cardinal.
Thanks for sharing your drinks and your beautiful photos with us for T this Tuesday (yep, it’s now Tuesday).

Sigh!!!! Your photos are just so relaxing to look at – except Mr Magpies hand – ouch!!! I can only imagine the sounds of the birds and the scent from the flowers but I know I would enjoy it for sure! I am wondering if the robin sings as sweetly as the European kind? I would also like to know the name of the cheeky looking yellow bird please. Happy T day! Chrisx

Thanks to everyone for your nice get well wishes for Mr Magpie. We appreciate that very much.
Chris along with the blooms we look forward to birdsong too. Our American Robin does have a song to sing…but I think your sweet Robin has a more delicate tone 😉 The yellow bird is a male Goldfinch. They are really sweet birds that look like tiny dolphins flying in the sky.

what a joyful garden you have Patty! It must feel magical because it sure does look like it is. Gorgeous photos and digital collage! My Mom just gave me a bouquet of the Lilly of the Valley flowers for May Day which is a fairly big holiday in France . Many of the cards in the shops there have pictures of these flowers to represent the day. Happy to hear the surgery went well and that Mr. Magpie is taking it slow and savoring this beautiful weather. Happy T day!

Oh Patty
This is my kind of Spring garden!
Is the yellow flower a Banksia rose – sorry, my eyes aren’t what they used to be!
And oh how I would love to sit outside with you and smell the fragrance of your Lily of the Valley. I can’t grow where I live as it doesn’t get cold enough in Winter.
Poor Mr Magpie – I hope his finger heals well and he’s ‘Gunho’ and back to normal asap!
That fat little robin is gorgeous – I wish he would visit my garden.
