a pot of summer blooming Forget-me-nots that I planted last year has gently spread among our Japanese painted ferns just off the back porch…
it is such a sweet little flower and the delicate blues really speak to me…
the blooms that were hanging over the stone border into the lawn were begging to be picked and I just happened to have a tiny china boot that made a nice vase …
and then I remembered one of my basket girls from Japan (the beautiful English Bone China cup belonged to my sweet mother-in-law)…
as will happen one thing led to another and I finished another chip board piece in my tea cup journal using cut out blooms from some of my photos and a Lord Byron quote…
still deciding with the postage stamp or without as my thought was to keep each cup rather simple (it is a challenge for me sometimes to leave open space)…
just a couple more cups to go and I can show them all to you…

What sweet flowers! And you have displayed them so beautifully in that darling boot and lovely lady with a basket (she seems to have been made just for your forget-me-nots). And those Japanese painted ferns are spectacular. I’m not sure if they will grow here but I plan to look for them in the garden shops. I will also be on the hunt for a lady with a basket figure. Can’t wait to see your finished tea cup book!

I forget to plant the Forget-Me -Not’s and I don’t know because they are so pretty . Your’s are great and I love all of the ways you have displayed them … Just when I decide to purge some of my tiny vases and what not’s you show me a new use for them so out of the donation box they come 🙂

Lovely as usual dear Patty….one can’t go wrong with flowers & teacups now can they?? Forget-Me-Not’s were one of my Mom’s favorite. Mine did not come back this year….will hopefully replant next year. Thanks for sharing your lovely pictures.

I just LOVE your teacup book!! And this new page with the Forget Me Nots- mmmm!! I planted some Japanese Forget Me Nots last year and not as many have come up as hoped- but they are a brilliant blue for sure! If and when it stops raining I will share some photos!!
I do think you should be photographing and blogging for major magazines- your posts are always filled with such beauty- they fill me with such joy!! hugs and love to you! xx

Really lovely, heart-warming pics again, Patty. Forget-me-nots are one of my favourite flowers with their innocent and delicate little faces. I love your journal with the flower photos and the Byron quote. The little china boot looks so pretty too – and that lovely tea-cup of your mother-in-law’s. I love forget-me-nots and loved them in our garden. Unfortunately my DH (who was the gardener) absolutely hated them and waged war on them every chance he got. Nice to be reminded of how pretty they are!

Oh I love them all your lovely photos of these nice little blue flowers we call Vergißmeinnicht and it means the same like forget-me-not. We had a lot of them in our garden since many years. If you will let them spread out their seeds you will have an ocean of forget-me-not’s next year. It is a joy for the eyes when they bloom in spring. Your teacup journal looks very nice as well as your real teacup with the forget-me-not’s. I like also the japanese lady and the little boot filled with flowers, a lot of little eyecatcher.
