taking a break from organizing gave me a chance to create these two art journal pages for Art Journal Journey’s Post & Postage challenge which began with the image of the owl and a young girl from a page of green and brown images (wish I could give credit but they were already printed out with no identification)…
after that bits of plastered vintage book pages and the green dry cleaning numbers found their way onto the left page…
washi tape…a newspaper sketch of chives… torn scraps of various papers and a bit of sari ribbon with some fabric daisy trim where I painted the centers…
I had several postage stamps in mind but when I saw the colors in the lovely Polish stamp I knew it was the one…
because of a wren nesting in the corner of our back porch I was not able to photograph my pages in my favorite spot with great light…
there is a lot of tweeting and activity going on with those precious birdies … I snapped the photo above from my computer chair looking through our net and lace curtain …
Your journal pages are totally stupendous, love EVERYTHING about your spread. And the bird photos have found a way to my heart! Alles Liebe, Hugs, Valerie

I really enjoyed seeing this page and how you brought all those disparate parts together in harmony. You make the most of your scraps, your images, and your knowledge of what goes together. This is a stunning spread. I love it, and adore the bird photos. I would never have gotten anything that clear using my camera through a window and lace curtains.

How perfectly all the elements fit together! The Polish stamp is just right! Did you add the daisies on the girl’s head scarf and at her neckline? I love the way the sari ribbon and daisy trim enhance the ones on the girl. Taking pictures of birds through the window is such a fun way to capture their antics.
