a couple of pages in one of LaWendula’s gesso and paint journals made with magazine pages (this is the cover of the journal with similar coloring on the pages I worked on)…
the sunflowers popped up in my stash (wish I’d had one more flower but I made do with what I had because time is ticking)…
the golden thyme leaves were leftover from this project which led me to add touches of gold to the lady and sunflower centers with a wooden toothpick…
sharing my pages with Conny’s Mix it Monthly MIXED MEDIA FLOWERS and Art Journal Journey’s TIME challenges…
I am enjoying late summer here in northern Virginia and had fun after several different visits to a local sunflower farm playing with the flowers I cut…

A beautiful image of the Romany lady and I love the touches of gold which make it all seem the more decadent, bringing to mind the textiles she is wearing being woven with gold thread.
Another sublime post.

Your journal pages are gorgeous, Patty. Love the added bit of gold. Sunflowers are so pretty. I don’t know of any near me. I do remember the fields and fields of them whenI visited Germany many years ago. A feast for the eyes.

Although the sunflowers took center stage, my eye zoomed in on the German text you used in the background. You use such detail in your art, and using a toothpick to add gold to the sunflower centers was brilliant.

I always enjoy the journey you take us through your collage creations. There is something about this one which is so attractive, maybe “timeless” is the right word to describe it. It’s lovely, contented art.
