back in my early blogging days I participated in lots of online challenges (some of them no longer running) and because of that I got to ‘meet’ so many talented artists from around the globe…
nowadays I participate in far fewer challenges because I feel badly if I cannot visit all of the participants …
for Elizabeth’s Second look on the 2nd challenge this month I am taking you back to September of 2008 (I see I liked using pressed flowers in my artwork even back then)… feel free to join in at the link above… all are welcome…
Dans ma maison il y a…. du vintage
I did a spread in my house shaped altered book for the Vintage theme this week at Dans ma maison il y a…..
It all began with the image of the little girl and her doll along with the “Once Upon a Time” scrapbook paper for the background. The little girls ‘wings’ are pressed Dusty Miller leaves. The black accents are from a Martha Stewart sticker pack.
That is a wonderful piece – glad you show it again Patty!

This is a post I’ve not seen before since it’s before we “met.” Even then, you were making great and beautiful art. I’m impressed with the house AB, and so enjoyed the beauty of the repetition and asymmetry. This is a WONDERFUL entry for Second on the 2nd. I really enjoyed it.

Oh, I remember taking part in this challenge in my early blogging days Patty! 2008 was the year I started my blog, just so I could join in with challenges like this 🙂
Your house art is beautiful, such a lovely trip back in time!

How charming art work, Patty. I really love it, and I’m happy you show it now. In 2008 I didn’t make any art (started in 2011).
Your art is always enchanting and beautiful.

It is very beautiful Patty…love the dusty miller leaves as wings! the girl is so lovely…but something about the doll is a bit scary…is it me? or is the raven a portent of something sinister? 😉 lol…I must be channeling Halloween a bit early….

Nice graphic spread with the smaller images and then the one large. She doesn’t look all that enthralled with that doll though! xox

I really love this one, Patty. The image is especially compelling and I like the colors (of course). Love Dusty Miller — and it makes perfect wings!

Hadn’t seen this the first time. I really like the wings from nature. I also like the spread with the three small pictures on one side, the large on on the other. Interesting that way.

Oh, Patty, this is just fabulous! I’m so glad you shared it again. I think you might know how much I love blue – and that little girl is adorable. The background paper is exquisite and I love anything house-shaped. This is another really inspiring and enchanting post. xx

Yes, challenges are great for meeting people and if we are not pressed for time it is also great fun to go and see what everyone has done for the theme.
I do like this, the lovely background with the black bird and the girl with her dolly. It’s good to see your older work (2008, gosh) and for it to be shown again and not lost in the depths of blogland history.

Patty, this is gorgeous!! Did you dry those dusty millers and have they held up? I have a box of flowers I dried and pressed- need to remember where I put it! heehee xoxo
