November thus far has been full of surprises as we have had several frosts along with some warm and humid weather days…
having flowers still blooming in our garden this time of year is a treat…
these sweet pink roses always make us a bit sentimental…
the leaves are falling fast and soon only the bones of the garden will be visible until springtime rolls around again…
I do enjoy the rhythm of the seasons…

Your photos are always so gorgeous and such a treat to see–the one of the clouds just blew me away!
I must admit I like the changing seasons, but the cold and snow are perhaps my least favorite. I must learn to see their beauty and I think I will keep so busy this year that I may not notice the dreariness!

Oh what lovely photos of your garden and plants. Yes it is a very crazy November this year. We had also a few days frost and later springtime temperatures. On my roof terrasse I found this morning 2 pink roses and in the area around us there are blooming wild flowers again.

First of all I positively LOVE this new to me quote-so beautiful. Your flowers and vignettes are so delightful! I have a few flowers still blooming (including a bit of fuchsia!) so I haven’t had the heart to clean out any of the pots or hanging baskets. I have a feeling that will come by the weekend though. Wonderful post Patty. I do love the changing of seasons……even in California. We have had some more rain……yea!! and the temps have dropped…..snow flurries in the surrounding mountains. BUT, here in the valley the flowers are still in their last bloom, and the trees are just starting to turn color and drop their leaves.

an awesome pink chair for your sweet still life, and gorgeous photos! The angel caught my eye…is it a Santos? so lovely. Our pretty leaves have pretty much disappeared now (in Ohio) with the recent rain and wind. Sad… and I will miss the sunshine when winter truly arrives! happy T day!

I’m quite green with envy. Roses don’t do well here at all….heavy clay soil, semi-tropical weather. They get every bug and fungus known to man. Yours are just gorgeous.

Lovely images on this post, Patty. I love the roses in the beautiful jug and the angel. Your garden looks lovely too. Every season has its beauties, hasn’t it? Although I’m sad to say goodbye to the leaves in our garden, I love the shapes of the trees, silhouetted against rich red sunsets and darkening winter skies. That is also a very special kind of beauty. I remember last winter that ‘face’ you photographed in the snow! I wonder if we will have any snow this year in our part of the UK? Climate change has meant that we still have lots of flowers blooming in our garden and it’s unseasonably mild. xx

Everything is of beauty here, Patty. I love the blue Thyme stone, a fabulous blue like lapis lazuli. I like seeing it on the still-life with the coloured chair, the bird in the teacup and jug, such a skilful set-up and photograph.
And the last photograph with the perfect pink rose and the bird bath (?) and the wonderful words after – swoon.

Patty lovely photos as ever. But you surprised me with your thoughts here. I was thinking exactly about how the splendor of autumn has disappeared here in the last two days. The leaves have all been washed away by the rains. These pink roses are my favorites. I myself had taken a couple of photos of them for sketching ideas.

Hard to believe everything is still blooming, but it’s been weird warm here and just now settling in to November weather. My yarrow looks like it’s about to explode again, it’s been growing and growing. xox

How lovely! My roses are long gone but I still have geraniums, Johnny Jump-ups, Violas and petunias working their magic, along with the rosemary, thyme, parsley and sage. Sounds like a song doesn’t it — but Si and Gar put them in better order! I suspect most of the outside stuff will get frosted by the end of the week but I’m going to try to winter the rosemary and geraniums inside. We’ll see how that goes in bad light!
I love your gorgeous arrangements. And the fact that you get a bit longer a reprieve than we do before it all disappears for the winter!

Amazing isn’t it Patty? This is the first time ever that I have had two roses still blooming! The herbs are still growing and even the petunias still are alive with color! Such a beautiful gift from Mother Nature!

Patty, Thank you for welcoming us into your beautiful gardens. The sweet roses are a beautiful pop of bright colour although signs of Autumn are definitely on display. Here it has become much colder, even within the house I am noticing the dip in temperature. I am armed and ready with hot water bottles and bedsocks … oh the glamour of it all LOL.
