fun to finally make time to play in one of my gesso journals…
I brought home a few new rubber stamps from a nice shoppe in Santa Fe and I am supposed to be getting rid of stamps not buying new ones!!!…
the Amaretti cookie wrapper came in handy along with the BLESSINGS image that I printed onto canvas paper from one of my hand stitcheries…
I dug out my gold embossing powder for the starburst stamped on old book text and wrote a few of the blessings I am grateful for around the page…
for the left hand page I wanted to use some alphabet stamps but was not at all pleased with how they were looking…
once again gesso and paint saved the day…I enjoy using various fonts on the computer and printing out my words…
linking up to Art Journal Journey and their Collage/Journaling challenge this month…
it is always a treat to visit the many artists that participate in the AJJ challenges and I have some catching up to do!
Such a beautiful page. Enjoyed it so much .. an it’s so true. Love the quote. hugs, Donna

This journal spread is superb! There is something so glorious about your art, Patty, not least how you utilise little scraps of prettiness and create beauty out of everyday things that others might overlook and discard. That stamp is simply lovely and so effective on book text. I will certainly hold your words in my heart from this post. There is so much wisdom and so much love here. May your Christmas be full of joy! xx

OK, I realize I’m ONLY three days behind seeing this post, but I must have had my head in the sand or I would not have missed it.
You DO realize that River City Rubber is in Wichita, don’t you? I went there with several people one year and saw how their rubber stamps were made. Now you know why I much prefer to use computer generated words instead of stamped words. I DO like the finished spread. It shines and sparkles, too.
