can’t seem to find a link for this interesting building…
not far from Nice and the French Riveria is the medieval hilltop village of Saint-Paul de Vence…
the Russian born artist Marc Chagall lived there for almost twenty years…
he is buried in the cemetery along with his wife and brother (there is a glimpse of the ocean at the top left)…
we enjoyed walking the beautiful cobblestone streets redone in the 1950’s…
with photo opportunities at every turn…
arriving early in the day made for less crowded streets…
still feeling a bit all over the place when it comes to settling down and trying to capture some of our travels in my little journal…
I keep getting lost in our photos…
here is what developed in my travel journal trying to record a bit from our visit to this beautiful town…

You and Mr. M. have a magical way with photographs, you both have an eye for beauty . The photos before and after the mosaic and the mosaic itself have such wonderful subtle and unusual colours and angles.

Even without any artistic ability who could not appreciate Chagall and the beauty he shared with so many. Next to that is the Wisteria which does not grow well or at all in northern Michigan.Oh my just not sure which way to swoon Patty. Soooooooo beautiful !! xoxoxo

I am so glad you decided to show us more of your beautiful trip. I have been to southern France once but never to Nice or this wonderful village. Chagall, was a wonderful artist, Patty, he painted so many,many wonderful paintings, and I love the “primitive” simple….. way of picturing the world, on them. Such a beautiful area you have showed here, the buildings are so gorgeous in their half decay and picturesque appearance, I always get the feeling of meeting something wonderful, around the next corner in such places !!
Your spread just say so much of this experience, dear friend,with you two, fitting in greatly, in new colored shirts, lol.

OMG what impressive photos dear friend. The building with the head inside looks amazing. And St. Paul de Vence has a lot of picturesque corners, really a dream. Especially a dream for artists. I wish I could visit it sometime and stay there a while to paint.

I often wish that cameras had a feature were you could add a little note to pictures to help you remember where/what they are. I always start out with grand plans to jot notes as I go along but that only lasts for a few hours and then I’m caught up in simply taking the photos.
