Saint-Émilion is a village in the Bordeaux wine region of France (a UNESCO World Heritage Site)…
their history goes back to prehistoric times…
there were wonderful photo opportunities at every turn…
I could snap photos of windows… doors and arches all day long…
the Gothic Collegiate Church Cloister built between the 13th and 14th centuries contrasted beautifully with a more modern art installation there…
wish we knew more about that…
this sign made us giggle with its great sense of humor (many Europeans speak two and three languages at least)…
I created another spread in my French Travel Journal printing some of my artwork onto a used and flattened teabag (more about the process here)…
using one of my hand carved stamps on tissue paper and my arch photograph on the left hand page…
the peeled wisteria napkin pieces attached with glue stick were the final touches for my spread …
this is my tenth entry for AJJ’s JOURNEYS challenge…

Stunning photos. I adore all the windows and doors, with all the historical architecture. All those art history classes I took ( way back when) gave a great fascination and desire to see it……..way back then I hoped to see it in person….*grin* Now YOU bring them right into my home!

An very impressive old town, marvellous photos again and such very,very nice pages you created with the lovely bow photo and the wisteria around that sweet face. I love it very much dear friend. Watching your photos I get more and more the wish to travel through France next year. 😉

Once again I’ve been transformed to a beautiful part of France. I’ve noticed that a lot of the travel brochures emphasize wine experiences, but nothing as unique and romantic as your lovely trip. It’s one thing to see it in brochures, and another when you “know” someone who has lived it.
Your journal spread is wonderful, and I simply adore the wisteria tissue paper you added at the end. That’s something I appreciate about you. You see the tissue, napkin, or stamp, and use the best part of it. You aren’t afraid to use something out of context.

Oh what a beautiful town Saint-Èmilion is, Patty, so many beautiful old buildings there, too, I would so love to visit the Gothic Collegiate Church ,myself, to see the amazing details in the buildings,from so many.many years ago,- the streets around, and houses, looks so worth a visit too.
Your journal page is stunning dearest, so very beautiful, in your loved color tones, the lovely image and the paper napkin wisteria, remembering you of glorious sight from Saint-Èmilion.

Dear Jackie Many thanks to you! Most of the paper I use is assorted recycled paper that Mr M brings home. So it ends up being printed on both sides. The “new” fresh paper we use has some recycled material and is sold at Staples. Can’t find the package at the moment. I mostly like using thinish paper for glueing to journal pages. I hardly ever print out images onto “real” photo grade paper anymore. This spread is one of my favorites in my French Travel Journal.
