fresh as a daisy…

using a copy of my earlier artwork I got busy on two more journal pages for Yvonne’s IN MY GARDEN there is challenge over at Art Journal Journey…

Magpiels fresh as a daisy starter

still playing with daisies and my favorite color blue…

Magpie's Nest Fresh as a daisy gesso

feeling the sizing wasn’t quite right on the first lady … a different lady spoke to me...

Magpie's Nest daisy right

I like the way she melted into the painted page framed a bit with pressed flower fusion paper at the top and plaster stenciled book text at the bottom…

  1. Your daisy page is beautiful, and the cool blues and white very soothing and refreshing by this heat! Thanks for another gorgeous and stylish page in your own lovely Patty style! Hugs, Valerie

  3. First of all thanks for the link back to your 16 collages. I remember they blew me away the first time and I oohed and aahed all over again.
It’s wonderful (!) how you have used one of the squares and turned it into a daisy-fest page, and who doesn’t love daisies. I think the first lady would have been fine, but the second merges into the blueness rather well. I love this.

  4. Oh how lovely and so fresh these blue pages. But it is very hot and humid here in Germany and I am not fresh, so I enjoy your fresh pages and dream of icecream and a cool shower. Our garden meadows are full of Daisies and I love them too.

  6. Gorgeous , stunning pages Patty, the blues and the daisies are wonderful together. I particularly love the way the second lady has blended into the background, an almost negative effect.
    Have a lovely weekend.

  8. This are beautiful pages Patty! Seems we have something else in common, our love of the colour blue :-). The daisies definitely take centre stage with the change of lovely lady and the transparency of the image gives a magical feel. She looks like a Daisy Goddess! The lace daisy flower is gorgeous too! Wishing you a Happy Weekend! J 🙂

  9. Daisies and blue work wonderful together. As does lace and beautiful girls. Something is fresh and young about daisies, though you certainly don’t have to be fresh or young to love them. But probably you have to be young at heart. 🙂 I am saying that because I love daisies and if it isn’t true it sounds good. These are both wonderful pages. Stay cool! Hugs-Erika

  13. Such a great idea to reuse some of your own art. I should try to remember to that myself when I need an image for a new page. Daisies are definitely one of my favorite flowers – they always seem so cheerful and bright, and they last a long time when cut!

  14. I love how she is hiding in the background, now, dear Patty, and the blue tones make her almost ghostly ,but still there, loving her daisies , now dried and old, but still with a little fragrance , and the wonderful new doily daisy on the left highlight the pages so lovely.

  15. These pages are beautiful. I adore muted blue coloration in artwork. Glad to see you are still playing with the daisies. I adore the first lady and really like the second. Either one is a beautiful piece on its own. Thanks for the poem and you help. What got me is I saw the three leaves BUT they were NOT shiny…so I thought they were just growing from ANOTHER weed. Now, I now why I am so sick thanks to you. I just do not seem to be getting any better, and now I am feeling like I have a secondary infection. Since it is the weekend, Buddy says to go to our little open clinic and see what they say. I wear an Icy velcroed wrap around my neck all the time (I have 3 of them) and wear as few clothes as I can so not to irritate it any more. Oh, well, I water-cooled a sympathy card this morning so I am not wasting my days. genie
