things are still topsy turvy here in exciting ways…
with our back porch enclosure coming along nicely…
but of course everything takes time…
I did get in my art room to play and created an art journal page using some of the ingredients above…
bits of torn napkin and plastered book text along with scraps of paper (matte medium works beautifully under and on top of the thin napkin paper to help it melt into the page)…
part of a Misty Mawn collage sheet that I highlighted with pencil and added the he♥rt in the hand to pulled together with some super heavy white gesso and some rubons and doodling to finish…
it will be fun to visit Art Journal Journey and see all of the wonderful entries already for Gill aka Gibby Frogett’s lovely August theme of NATURE’S WONDERS…
“The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us, the less taste we shall have for destruction”. Rachel Carson
You work a lot in your journals….all beautiful. The porch will be a lovely spot to work on them.

I wish you could throw some of your magic fairy dust on me – Your journal pages are always so creative and for me inspiring. I have lots of ideas but not get up and go. Plus I am really blocked about the background –
Your new room is coming along nicely – what a great view to the outside.

Oh your Wintergarten goes forward and I can imagine how it will look, if it is finished. It will become a nice place to relax and I am excited how you will decorate it and what kind of furniture it will get.
Your journal page is nice again, a great art collage with all the nice motifs, stamps and textures. Great work and I like it much.

I don’t know how you find time to get in the art room when the porch is apart and you’re in remodeling zone! Bravo — both the pieces look wonderful (and I can’t wait to see the porch — love that green (or is it aqua — sometimes hard to tell in the pic!)

Your pages look fresh and cool! Not how we are feeling in Florida right now! I am sure you are anxious for all that renovation to be complete. So disruptive, but the end result will be well worth it.

This is wonderful. I really must get some matte medium because I’ve been using glue stick and the napkins don’t melt into the background like yours do. And that postage stamp stole my heart!
Your new porch is going to be wonderful. Three or four seasons you’ll be able to enjoy it without worrying about snakes (GRIN) joining you.
One thing that isn’t good is the heat. I hope your main house is closed well so this sticky, muggy heat doesn’t permeate it.

You will love your new room and will probably spend all your time out there. 2 years ago we had our lanai removed and a sunroom built on the back of our Florida home. We are on a golf course with a large pond in our back yard. My husband is out there from early to late and I enjoy sitting out there stitching or reading.
The heart in the hand under the eyes is very effective. Another great one.

Lovely to see this collage in the making, with the papers you have carefully chosen of course. Adding the heart does bring it together, and I like the patchwork effect on the left. Maybe this is something just a bit different from you influenced by the constructions going on in your house?
The porch extension looks wonderful, who wouldn’t want to sit in there with you one cool afternoon.

Wonderful journal page, dear Patty, beautiful examples of :Wonders in the world… I love the napkin you used, and the sweet Briefmark matching the flowers. Is the black-white also a stamp? – Wow your porch will be so filled with light , a beautiful “green house” to enjoy the garden from inside. I hope it will soon be finished, I know what living in a mess, means ;lol.

Love how your porch is looking Patty. It is going to be great once you get it done. I love the windows, so you can use it more of the year. Perfect! And I love your journal page too. You really made it unexpected when you added those images on the left. I was waiting for something small or delicate but no. It surprised me and that is good. Beautiful work! Hugs-Erika

Your porch redo is coming along nicely. I can imagine you enjoying it when it is done. I like the page you created very much. With the heavy gesso it must have quite a nice texture. Pictures are great but texture seems so much better in person.

Oh my, what amazing views you are going to have out of your porch windows. it brings the outdoors inside so beautifully! Your blue broom is a work of art in itself, it looks like it can sweep the room all by itself :-). I love the layers you have created on your page, there are so many wonders to behold! Wishing you a happy weekend! J 🙂
