true wonder…

earlier this month I created a page for Gill’s Art Journal Journey’s NATURE’S WONDERS that I shared hereMagpie's Nest BEFORE true wonder pages

more often than not I work on a spread rather than just one page but this time was one of those times…Magpie's Nest Patty Szymkowicz page in processI stamped two Lynne Perrella stamps on the white thin layer peeled from a napkin adhering them to the page with matte medium adding color with a toothpick (the black highlights are Tim Holtz rubons that I also used on the Wonder page)…Magpie's Nest TRUE page

one of the things I enjoy very much about working over text in my collage backgrounds is what reveals itself without even trying… the rays and the French word for sun/soleil above are a good example

nature truly is a continuous wonder

  4. It was good to see both the pages of the spread together Patty. I love how you layer the collage elements together and you can still see some of the original details. Whatever the accident this sure did work out to be a fabulous page.
    Have a happy weekend

  11. Oh Patty – how I love all of your creative ideas. You have my head spinning. I would like to do one more journal page and might just try my hand using a napkin. God only knows where I will go from there.

  12. Your work is gorgeous Patty and I wonder if I am sad sitting oohing and ahhing over splodges and splats and also zooming in as far as I can to see all the wonderful details close up. I love it!
I wanted to say thank you for all the lovely comments on my pages, especially the last couple of days, that was very sweet and kind.
Hope you are having a lovely weekend and that the heat has cooled a bit for you…(I don’t think I could cope with the high temps you get.)

  16. I’m always impressed how you can layer and it looks cohesive and right instead of just a mess of too much stuff. There’s a lot there — yet it all works. I strive for that. You have it mastered!
