it has been awhile since I’ve played along in Elizabeth’s Second look on the 2nd challenge but I thought I would share this post from five years ago which happened to be on the 2nd of October…
button cuff completa…
she kindly sent me home with a blank black elastic cuff stitched and ready to be decorated…
I finally got busy yesterday while watching a little Doc Martin on tv…
it really IS fun to pick through buttons…
I like keeping mine in jars …
I have two weddings to go to this month…
my new button cuff may be just the thing to go with my little black dress…
if I made another one I would sew each button on and knot it individually…
I bet that’s what Dot did…
there are about 40+ buttons on my cuff…
a very Happy Birthday to my sister and to my sweet Onkel Sepp (both do not read my blog) AND also to Marit my special bloggie art sister who has some really exciting news to share here…
it is Gandhi’s birthday too…

Your button cuff is a real show -stopper ,what a beauty. Great idea, you have some lovely buttons. I used to love playing with my great Auntie’s button tin when I was small, it was always full of ‘treasures’. Have a happy Sunday, hugs, Valerie

Oh what amazing nice buttons on your cuff. I like these old buttons made of glass with ornaments and mother-of-pearl, or with glass diamonds. Your friend had choosen metal buttons for her cuff and it looks also very nice.
Dearest Greetings

A lovely collection of buttons Patty. These days it’s hard to find good ‘vintage’ ones.

You have some beautiful buttons, Patty. You don’t often find great buttons anymore, because people like us collect them. Your cuff is out of this world. Do you still have it? Do you still wear it? It’s a genuine beauty.
Thanks for sharing this post with us again for a second look on the 2nd. My apologies for being so late, but like you, life got in the way and became a true nuisance when I had repairs to make today in my home. The joys of home owning!

Love the idea of a button cuff! What was the black elastic cuff you used? Do you still wear it? You have a wonderful button collection! I have some that I collected when I was a child as well as some that belonged to my grandmother. So much fun to sift through.

What a fun project! Love how you’re button selection was artful in itself. 🙂 When I was pregnant with my first and still working outside the home I made a button covered shirt cinch (sort of like a mitten keeper in design) to pull my over-sized tops into some sort of shape. It was cute but not too fun to lean against when sitting. LOL
