turning over a new leaf…

typing on my new iPad that Mr Magpie surprised me with waiting to see how it works posting on my blog…img_0211so here goes…img_0238

WOW it works like a charm and it fits in nicely with my word for 2017 (SIMPLIFY is a word I have chosen as my  word of the year in the past…turns out it still needs work)…img_0236

these days I take so many photos with my iPhone it should be easier to attach those photos in my blog posts directly instead of having to send them to myself and work with them from the main computer… magpies-nest-patty-szymkowicz-january-sunlight

a more streamlined process that I am really excited about with some tricks still left to learn…1magpies-nest-patty-szymkowicz-candlelight-cuppa

I am joining everyone over at Elizabeth’s Altered Book Lover for T Stands for Tuesdaymagpies-nest-patty-szymkowicz-time

wishing you a happy day (footnote: in the end I did have to fine tune a bit from my real computer but the iPad will definitely open new doors and I can stand instead of sitting all the time too!)

  6. yes, aren´t ipads cooooool. i know what you mean about .,,,…now I can stand instead of sit…………true, true. Now your next purchase should be one of those desks that you can push up and down accordingly depending if you want to work standing or sitting. does wonders for the circulation and back:) just ask me:) I really like your choice of word too……I wish I could heed it more often. Looks like you are off to a good start. Happy New Year!

  8. What a fantastic gift. My friend Sally has an iPad (has 2 in fact for over two years) and doesn’t even know how to copy and paste on it. So, you are quite a quick learner.

I like your word of the year. I almost reused a word, too, but I decided to chose a new one. Love how you shared it.

Your beautiful vignettes are always fun and your mosaics of your photos are always out of this world. I spied that Eiffel Tower on the table, too. What a beautiful table setting and great cups of tea. Thanks for sharing these incredible photos taken on your new iPad with us for T this Tuesday.

  9. Great word and photos, love the scrabble tiles with the flowers. WordPress has an app for your phone fyi and I now write my blog posts on my phone and grab my photos and go. Use my editing apps on the phone first then poof, done. Not sure if there is an app for the ipad for this, but for sure the phone. xox

Your word, for the year, is one that has been bouncing around in my head for a couple of weeks. I might just have to stop and apply it!
    Love all the photos
    Happy T-day

  17. Mr. Magpie is so thoughtful, what a fantastic present to help you “simplify”! Your post is wonderful, I love the settings you have created – the blues and whites with the swans and tree on your window sill reflected in that lovely white marble are gorgeous and it looks like ice. You must be so pleased with your new kitchen :-). Then there is the red and gold which works beautifully too, with the Eiffel Tower, swan and cute guy on the sleigh and the twinkly tree in the background. I like your card too, the snowlady and snowman (with the scarves on) remind me of you and your mister :-). Your tea looks perfect in that pretty mug, wishing you a Happy T Day dear Patty! J 🙂

  25. OH! A new toy to play with 🙂 Lucky you!!! You’ll have it mastered in no time flat and just posting away. I like the potability of a notebook or IPad too but sometimes I just need to set at the big guy and do some of the work too. Happy Belated T Day!!!!!

  26. I have done a few posts from my iPad but I usually have them started on the computer and photos uploaded then can finish from the iPad. I use Photoshop for most all my editing and definitely my water mark so I don’t think I’ll be able to completely convert. 🙂
I love simplify as your word. I used that one a few years back. It’s a good word!!!
    Happy T day!

  27. Great word. Google now backs up all your photos though I still use icloud to back up my photos to my icloud photos file on the computer. Sometimes I have to log in and out of icloud to get the photos to port over. Still less time consuming than emailing photos. Enjoyed your swan decorations espeically the reflection of them on the shiny surface.

  28. Simplify is such a good word – I have had a throw out of some rubbish today – decided that storing stuff ‘just in case’ for over 3 years was too much…and there’s still more under my desk!!! I love your blue Christmas photo! Lucky you to have an i-pad, I shall be looking how you get on! I will be e-mailing you soon dear Patty – I haven’t lost your e-mail address LOL!!!!
Big hugs to you both, Chrisx

  30. So I assume you got an iPad and have already figured out how to use it! I’m impressed! Well done you. Enjoy! Our daughter in England has one and loves it. I have an android tablet which I don’t know how to use very well. I play games on it and use Skype.
Fortunately my phone connects directly (with a usb lead) to my desktop, so I can transfer photos from phone to computer easily.
Your photos are beautiful and so atmospheric. Thank you for sharing.
I love your word for 2017. Simplify. It sounds easy but is so difficult to do…
Sorry I’m so late in commenting, I’ve been away from my desk.
    Belated happy T-Day,
