inspiration is everywhere and I marveled at how nicely my choice of drinks happened to match the colors I selected for my background for Erika’s “Tell me a Story” challenge over at Art Journal Journey…
blackberry and cucumber flavored sparkling water … 0-calorie 0-sweetener 0-sodium = Innocent! as written on the front of the can…
I am enjoying getting reacquainted with my water soluble crayons scrubbing after scribbling randomly with a damp brush to blend the colors (the book text also had some white gesso on it)…
Mano Svanidze’s brilliant photo “Another Tea Time” of the lady with her tea cup and tea pot inspired me along with pieces of corrugated cardboard and heavy gesso…
for the left hand page I used one of my photos layered with artwork using iPhone apps along with some words I had jotted down…
I am also joining everyone over at Elizabeth’s Altered Book Lover for T Stands for Tuesday…

wow Patty your journal pages are so touching and thoughtful, really flowing from the heart. Love the photo you chose to highlight along with your teapot page. I literally just set aside some corrugated ripped cardboard yesterday to use-sometime:) Very gloomy and raining here. Thankfully no ice! Hope you’re having a good day in your neck of the woods. happy T day!

Here you really used stronger colors, they are so beautiful together, – love it, and the photo pops wonderfully from your corrugated cardboard , Patty.
The play with your phone gave an amazing result , with the true words beneath. I hope you savored many moments today, too, dear friend.

How impressive. What I could do with the contents of your table. One problem was I tried to enlarge the first photo and it wasn’t clickable. I really wanted to see all those bits and bobs, as well as the drawers and their contents. Call me a snoop, but I love seeing your table. What fun I would have playing in your space.
Your journal spread is wonderful. I’m in awe of the colors, which seem to mirror the lovely water you are drinking. I can see you cutting that can up for the words, if nothing else.
I’m especially impressed with your iPhone app skills. Wonderful imagery and photography, too. Of course, I’m always a sucker for corrugated cardboard. Thanks for sharing this incredible spread with AJJ and T this Tuesday.

Such a marvellous background! I love that your drink is the same colours, sounds delicious in it’s simplicity to me … :-). Your design is glorious with the addition of the Another Tea Time photo, corrugated cardboard and heavy gesso, sentiments and your gorgeous ipad enhanced photo. What a fun and perfect way to capture Tea Time this T Tuesday. Wishing you a Happy T Day! J 🙂
p.s. glad to see your getting artistic with your ipad :-). You inspired me so much with your post about using your ipad, I’ve started using mine to link to everyone’s blogs and leave comments – it’s much easier than using the main computer :-). Guess your word “simplicity” is catching … lol :-).

What a beautiful journal spread, Patty. I love the color combo. How funny that it matches your drink can. Which came first? I like how you added gesso (texture paste?) to the corrugated cradboard. I have to add that to my list of things to try. Very effective! Happy T Day!

Thank you very much Eileen! The pages came first and then I discovered the can of bubbly water that I had forgotten in the fridge. Always a fan of nice packaging! Liquitex makes a Super Heavy Gesso that is one of my favorite art supplies!

Love this colour combination Patty, and I am looking forward to try out your tip of using a brush to scrub the colours, so far I have been using my fingers, your sounds a much cleaner way.
I certainly savour the moment when holding a cup of tea, The quotes were great.
