COEXIST

a couple of days ago I shared the right hand side of my first RED pages for Linda’s Art Journal Journey theme of “Fifty shades of RED”

it is unusual that I do not finish both sides of a spread at the same time but I confess my creativity has been a little off center so far this year…magpies-nest-left-side-waiting

sometimes inspiration is right over your shoulder as this photo shows a bit of a hodgepodge of things that usually only we see at the top of our stairs…magpies-nest-shepard-fairey-poster

I scanned the  bumper sticker and cut the letters to fit my page vertically (by the way I would NEVER do this if I were going to sell what I made… this is strictly for personal use in my journal)…magpies-nest-coexist-supplies

a few more rubons and a bit of stamping with thanks to Jo of Let’s Art Journal and her great eye for detail …magpies-nest-patty-szymkowicz-left-page-coexist

she helped me remember with her nice comment on the right side of my spread when she remarked on the fine lines in the background which reminded me I had forgotten to mention I used a favorite Tin Can Mail Inkadinkado rubber stamp to add interest and tie into the black rubons a bit too…

life moves so fast I see I will be adding a bit of red pencil edging to the left hand page now that I see it on the big screen…

  5. I love the Coexist faith symbol. It is wonderful, but so is the stamp. The stamp you used reminds me of the golden mean. It is lovely. This is a wonderful page that completes the spread beautifully.

  11. Beautiful addition to your right side (I have read now your older posts) with much red! I was smiling when I saw your beginning of the red pages … I have done also in such way – and then took my gesso and paint over the whole side – today. I am waiting for a new inspiration and now see your beautiful pages! Tomorrow I will go on drawing 🙂

  15. Well that Tin Can Mail Inkadinkado rubber stamp is glorious, as is your new page! Thank you so much for the mention dear Patty, that is so very kind of you :-). I love the coexist sticker and it suits the message of your pages and the times we are living in wonderfully! As you know adding a splash of blue definitely gets my vote, it’s my favourite colour too! The pages really compliment each other and look beautiful together, you would never know that you created them at different times. Your altered spam can doll is wonderful and so much fun – you really do have a thing for dolls … lol :-). Your beautiful lady saying “Make art …” is a lovely inspiration too, I think I have a stamp of a lovely lady with flowers in her hair that’s very similar. Thanks again for your kindness and sharing your stunning journal pages! Wishing you a great week! J 🙂 x

  20. You always have the best ideas and your theme “Coexist ” seems quite impossible — although we can always dream! And even though America does not commit the horrid acts of cruelty that some countries do, we scatter around hateful words like they were rose petals contributing to a world of anger and hatred.
