here we are in February already…
heart month… I have accumulated a bit of a he♥rt collection over the years and even have a “heart” category on my blog…
something very precious to me is a stool Mr Magpie made many years ago and my mother painted with intentions of giving it to me (the apple tart is from the shop in the photo above with the ♥I wheely like you♥ sign…they sell wonderful organic farm bread too)…
my mutti found the stool so useful (she wasn’t quite five feet tall) that she had it in her kitchen for many years before it came to me…
each speckle adds to the patina and charm of so many years in her pantry…
wishing you a Happy T Day along with everyone over at Elizabeth’s Altered Book Lover where all you need to join in the fun is to share anything related to a drink (guess what! I found a way to post photos again that can be clicked on for a closer look = hoorah!)…
as an aside a few of you have asked from previous blog posts what was inside the Paris box I have shared in photos…all is revealed above… (I was content with just the box but the candle is very nice too!)…
“February, a form
Pale-vestured, wildly fair,—
One of the North Wind’s daughters,
With icicles in her hair.”
~Edgar Fawcett, “The Masque of Months,” c.1878
So much wonderfulness to see in your post! Love your heart collection, your mother’s precious step stool, those cups of courage and peace, that tart, your beautiful altered images! I “wheely” like it all!

I love all your hearts Patty. They are very pleasing shapes. And I think your stool is lovely. It must mean a lot to you-it would if it was my mother who painted it. I really like the flowers on the blue. Hope that apple tarted tasted as good as it looks. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

I always love your heart inspired posts. This one is no different. AND, I was thrilled to see that you found a way that I can enlarge your photos.
The house in “home” is exactly like one I have, except the color of the windows and porch is different. I think I’ve shown mine before, but if not, I’ll pull it out for T one of these days.
It never occurred to me to ask about your Paris box, but I can see why you love it AND the candle. And you have a wonderful glass as a reminder after the candle is gone.
Your mother and I are alike. We are both about the same height. I have stools in practically every room in my house, and couldn’t reach anything if I didn’t have them.
Thanks for sharing all your lovely hearts and your mug vignettes with us for T this first Tuesday in February.

Yes, you have mentioned that bread shop before. It sure looks scrummy.
Your mum’s stool is gorgeous. What a treasure! I am very short too and have a little stool in every room that i can kick about as I reach for things. In the kitchen I have one of those plastic foldaway things that fits in the space between the units where I keep the tea trays.
You have a beautiful heart collection. Thanks for sharing.
Happy T-Day,

Your heart collection is wonderful, especially your pretty patina stool, I now see where you get your artistic flair from, your mother painted the stool so beautifully :-). What a heartwarming post. I smile whenever I see that lovely painted stool. The provenance makes it even more touching.
Re Life Book: Patty, you should check out some of the hummingbird interpretations in the gallery. Someone did a dove, another painted a hawk and there’s a fabulous one of three ostriches! No rules in Life Book. Do what inspires you!
Happy T Day! xox Eileen
