John William Waterhouse’s lovely lady in red inspired these two art journal pages that I had originally painted blue with a gold burst…
I stamped a Stamp Francisco heart on tissue paper and like how the Matte Medium helps it melt onto the page…
then I got busy with my white pen and almost couldn’t stop making marks…
I found the Federico Fellini quote that helped complete the left hand page….
joining in once again for Linda’s “Fifty Shades of Red” Art Journal Journey challenge…
“The one thing that you have that nobody else has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and draw and build and play and dance and live as only you can.” – Neil Gaiman
Wonderful journal pages, Liebe Pattilein! The royal blue and the lovely lady in red making a rich and wonderful contrast. Gut gemacht!! Alles Liebe, Valerie

It is stunning, my dear Patty, so very beautiful with Waterhous`s woman, with her tea-bowl, next to your bright blue, and white page, and the sun burst behind her. The white pen markings and Fellini`s quote are gorgeous!! Must have taken you some time , but so beautiful.

Your page is fantastic, but it must have taken you FOREVER to add those doodles to the left side. My hand cramped just seeing how much work you put into it.
The color combination is fantastic. Really a lovely spread and beautiful AJJ entry.

Wow, now that’s what I call adding detail – I love it! I could happily sit with a white pen and created all those markings too, it looks so beautiful :-). White pens can vary in the quality of the finish and yours looks fabulous – what brand of white pen did you use please? Waterhouse’s artworks are wonderful, I love the thoughtful and wistful expressions of his subjects. Your lady in the red dress looks lovely against the pretty blue and gold background and along with the sentiment and all the white patterning, you have created your own masterpiece – stunning! Enjoy the rest of your week! J 🙂

This is gorgeous Patty. I really love how the hearts you stamped don’t look like hearts at all when you finished. Just gorgeous paisleys, along with that gorgeous lady. I wanted to mention we have one of those diesel VW Jettas that we’re going to turn in next month also. Its the hubby’s car and he is also not going to buy another VW. I don’t know if he liked me buying another one, but since its my car-he’ll deal with it. 🙂 Hope you don’t get any of this bad weather tomorrow we’re suppose to get. Hugs-Erika

Glad you found the pen photo Jo. I find the water based white pen much better than the oil based. Thank you for your really nice comment!

Thank you very much Sophia. I can not say enough how great the Water-based white Sharpie pens are. It works each time I pick it up which is an issue I often have with other white pens. You would of course have to set it if it was going to be exposed to water.
