  2. Your page is such a complement to your mother and your memories. And that beautiful stool too! You really caught the feel of it, and I love seeing more of the stool. And your house. More of that fabulous looking renovation you did. Happy weekend from here in snowy NH. Hugs-Erika

  4. I’ve always been impressed with the stool your mother painted, and your replicating it in your altered book pays homage to that. I can tell you still feel the loss, although I’m sure it is at least lessening to the point of memories by now. It’s a lovely AJJ entry and beautiful memory of your mother.

  7. What a wonderful idea to take the lovely step stool your mother painted in such a beautiful way and bring it to a spread — not only a beautiful journal entry – an amazing spread to honour your mum ! it’s nearly four years meanwhile that my mother passed away – we will have them in our hearts forever. I always say to myself that people that are in someone’s heart or thoughts are still alive and not dead.

  10. Oh wow your painting looks very good and I just thought that you should paint the seat of the chair exactly in that way. You are talented like your mother in making this special kind of painting we call “Bauernmalerei“, means “Farmer’s Painting“. It is a special kind of furniture painting we have
in southern Germany Form where your mother came from.

  11. I’m always entranced by the photographs and mosaics you give us. I would have made the first two photographs an entire blogpost but you are so prolific there is so much more. I just love the pansy heart on the orange patterns and the pink fluffy heart on the music.
That is such a lovely idea to make a piece inspired by your mother’s painting. both are so lovely, old-fashioned in the best possible way and heart-warming.

The healing takes such awhile but we never forget those days when lives changed and I’m grateful you commemorated that day here. What love. Sending hugs, as always.
