it is that time of year again when the forest floor of Bull Run Regional Park transforms into a blanket of blooms…
our first visit this year was perhaps a week ahead of peak bloom and VERY muddy (we always come prepared with a change of shoes… a little slipping and sliding is so worth it)…
I get excited each year and look forward to walking in the woods with our traveling tea cup along the looped Bluebell Trail…

we plan to return for an early morning walk when more blooms are open and the light is softer…

i remember These bluebells from earlier Posts so well! they are wonderful. and that trout lily does not live in europe. regretfully, because it is such a Beauty!

I always LOVE it when you visit the bluebells. It’s the only time I’ve ever seen them because they don’t bloom here. In fact, I didn’t know anything about them until you shared photos of them a few years ago.
I also love it when you take the traveling tea cup on your visits. Gosh, you got LOADS of great shots and the tea cup came away being the star (model) of the show for once.

I so love going for walks in the woods in the Spring. I was extremely excited to find Bluebells this year.. The first I’ve seen them here. But I’ve never spent much time in that part of our woods before because it was so over grown. Looking forward to going back out there this weekend and see what all has developed after all of this rain.

Thank you for coming along Sheila. When we were clearing out my mother’s things I kept two tea cups and two saucers from a large dinner set. Thinking tea for two. Then in 2011 when the idea to bring “her” along with us on our travels came to me I was glad we have a spare cup and saucer just in case. We tuck it carefully inside a box that belonged to my sweet mother in law along with some bubble wrap.

Woodland plants are the best. So shy and demure hiding out in the leafy grounds. That yellow(trillium?) is a stunner though. xox

I love the bluebells. I started some here in the dunes..the heavy rains are squishing their faces in the mud as I type but I hope they seed and send out more bluebells. I hope they will hold each other up if I get enough of them going.
