***Tree Love Giveaway Winners***

Thank you to everyone that stopped by my giveaway and a special thank you to my thoughtful and generous friends that had nothing to gain by mentioning my giveaway and posting it on their blogs…

I wrote everyone’s name on a slip of paper and popped them into a special twig basket that my friend Carol Luszcz gave me many years ago…

here are the randomly selected winners (there were two Dianne’s so I had added dates to their names to differentiate between the two)

normally I would have responded individually to each comment but we were visiting our son in Colorado for Thanksgiving and I was unplugged for most of that special time…

Tree Love

***the winners are: Dianne … Marion  and Jenxo      thank you all for joining in***

it has been awhile since I have had a giveaway so I thought I would share some of my bleached trees as a thank you for visiting my Magpie’s Nest…

three (3) random winners will be chosen and announced on Tuesday, 27 November…

each will receive one little box of trees containing three 2.5 inch (6.35 cm) and six 1.5 inch (3.81 cm) trees…

Brightest of Blessings until next time…

passion for paper and more…

awhile ago I took a resin class with a friend and we made a couple of charms…

if you live in Northern Virginia that same friend is teaching a wonderful hand felted journal class here

when I got home I played some using bits of fabric and lace and more…

we used Sakura’s 3D Crystal Lacquer and I would still like to play with Ice Resin someday…

my origami dress collection keeps growing (can you believe it…I’ve started and can’t stop!)…

here I used some of my paint scraped book pages going international thanks to one of LaWendula’s Paper Swaps and some wonderful old German dictionary pages (and LOTS more wonderful swap treasures)

old maps are always a favorite ingredient (I made these watching Project Runway on TV)...

and here is a peek at what I won from the lovely Alicia of Altered Bits…

a wonderful array of vintage book pages and some of her super vintage images and more…

Lavender Daze Giveaway…

each year I look forward to this time of year…

quite often the Lavender is ready to be picked around Father’s Day…

this year it is a good two weeks ahead of schedule…

since I started weaving fresh Lavender wands and couldn’t stop I thought it would be a good time for a giveaway…

nothing to join or sign up for…

all are welcome whether near or far away…

SIX winners will be randomly chosen and announced on 20 June which is the Summer Solstice here in the Northern Hemisphere…

if you are a Lavender Lover and can’t get enough either…

you may want to visit some of my Lavender posts from years gone by below…

Lavender tea here

Lavender and roses, zipper roses that is here

and a bit about how I make the wands here...

for the first time this year I used some of Lisa Jurist‘s gorgeous hand dyed sari ribbons for weaving some of the wands…

you can find her ribbon array here

also be sure and stop by the talented and generous Natalea’s Kandeland blog to help her celebrate five years of blogging here...

I know I gave you lots of links…what’s a girl to do 😉

oh wait there is a fantastic Alpha Stamps Design Team blog hop you will not want to miss either here

By Hand…

finally I created a little collage which began with the cardboard from our son’s shoe box…

he was nice enough to run it by me before he put it in the recycling..

I decided to tear the box into pieces rather than adding it to my box collection

other than making some backgrounds and thinking about art I have not been producing all that much lately…

part of my excuse was having our living room carpet replaced which is still causing a good bit of upheaval since the room had to be emptied…

and traveling as wonderful as it is always throws off my balance a bit taking me awhile to settle back in a grove…

had to remind myself to “just do it” and get busy…

magpiesnest-by-hand

here is my postcard sized collage on peeled painted and gessoed cardboard with scrap papers…

a bit of golden tissue…old lace curtain…some shorthand book text and a little rubber stamping…

with a piece of Franky’s Old San Juan bling as a finishing touch…

the lovely girl was patiently waiting on a pile of papers up in my art cave…

with thanks to Elizabeth of Last Door Down the Hall for always sharing so many wonderful images!

AND

the lovely and talented Cynnie is having a really generous and special giveaway that you won’t want to miss here

tea cozy tea

hello and happy T day…

while we were at the Aylesbury Tea Room recently I treated myself to a sweet reversible tea cozy  made by the lovely and talented Jessica

it fits perfectly over the stainless steel tea pot I picked up in Ireland some years ago…

Jessica puts elastic in the bottom so you can just pop it over the tea pot and boy does it ever keep the tea piping hot …

my cup of decaf Irish Breakfast tea really hit the spot this chilly morning looking out at what’s left of a bit of snow we got late yesterday…

the lovely and talented Hermine is having a brilliant giveaway that you won’t want to miss …

Pacific Sea Star Tea

looking back on our trip to California in October of 2010

this post has been in DRAFT for far too long now…

WHERE in the world has a year gone…

I still remember how entertained we were walking on Goat Rock Beach on the lookout for treasure…

what is it about wet shells and rocks that wink at you in the sand and whisper “take me home with you”

there was sea glass too if you were very patient…

my great discovery was a brilliant Ochre Sea Star still too freshly gone to take home…

it looked like a Fabergé jewel incrusted ornament shimmering in the sunlight…

and complimented the embroidery on my tunic nicely…

we were warned by friendly locals to never turn our backs on the ocean…

they have signs warning about deadly Sleeper Waves…

a local lady who shared some sea glass with me had some stories to tell about those…

it was a short drive back to the sanctuary of Jenner where we were staying…

a bite to eat and some tea on the Russian River here…

we are excited about our upcoming return visit to a different part of California end of this month to attend our nephew’s wedding…

it was our sweet niece’s wedding that took us to the west coast last year around this time…

here’s wishing you a very happy T Tuesday

… be sure and visit Kimmie

you never know where the T Tuesday bloggers will take you…

***if you are a Claudine Hellmuth fan her second book is my 10th giveaway over at my Magpie’s Nest Too blog***
