Paper Stacks a Plenty…another Seth Apter Collaboration

Seth of The Altered Page is at it again …

ever the master of art collaborations he put out a call to post photos showing our stacked journals

… papers

… handmade books and more …

the bigger the pile the better…

I must admit the pictures above show just some of my creations…

in talking to Mr Magpie about paper stacks…

he took a few paper photos too…

it seems piles of paper play a big role in our lives…

the other evening we rescued the paper bits below after having a bite to eat

we found we only needed half of the heavy duty paper napkins provided and the paper doilies are always too good to pass up… a wonderful collage ingredient

many thanks to Seth as always for joining the on line mixed media art community together…

I am looking forward to visiting all of the Paper Stack Project participants linked on Seth’s blog here

…95 participants and counting…

box of delights tea…

Judy Domec really outdid herself in decorating the box full of goodies that I won in her round robin traveling tea cup event

she said it was her first art mail attempt…very well done Judy…I know your box delighted lots of people all along its journey…

I truly did not want to open it right away as there was lots to read and enjoy…but

finally I did open it while sipping some delicious Chocolate Pu-erh and munching on a Madeleinea container of those jumped into the grocery cart the other day which hardly ever happens…

here is the lovely line up of treats that I won from all around the country…

thank you Dawn

thank you Lori

thank you Amy

thank you Jill

thank you Halle

thank you Pat

thank you Kimmie

thank you Judy

how did I get SO lucky…

wishing you all a very happy T Tuesday from rainy Virginia…

More Over a Teacup

last Tuesday I shared some photos from three friend’s and I having a special tea prepared by the talented Julie and Susan of Julieanna Over a Teacup  in Broadway, Virginia

as that post got a little long…I thought I’d save some to share with you again today…

this vintage cup and saucer winked at me the moment I walked into the shoppe…

after tea I tried the cup on for size…

I like to be able to put my finger through the handle…

it was a perfect fit…

I have already enjoyed several delicious cups of my favorite Harney & Sons Earl Grey Supreme in it…

there is so much to catch the eye and delight the senses at Julieanna’s including special touches like their hand painted bags and ribbon wrapping…

along with our tea and conversation there were gifts…

Judy made everyone really special fabric covered tea journals…and she knows I enjoy postage stamps from around the globe too…

a yummy and delicate treat from Lennie … along with a tea pot spout drip catcher (say that five times quickly) that she bought for me at Julieanna’s as a thank you for driving…

a pretty bag full of gifts from Pat which included one of her “fairy umbrella” photo cards … her hand crafted heart scissor keeper … and two very special India inspired gifts…she knows me well..

some time ago I had found a bag of vintage sewing-needle books

what to my surprise when I opened the bag to find that there was one to fit each of these gals perfectly…

a horse theme for Pat McNally...

“Broadway” brand needles for Judy Post who has a Broadway address…

and a gardening theme with a Maryland Bank logo for Lennie Stimpson who used to work in a bank…

certainly the best gift of all was time spent together…

we survived THE hottest July on record here in the Washington DC Metropolitan area…

wishing you and yours a very happy August…

you can visit Kimmie for more T Tuesday stops and loads of inspiration…

Trudi’s May Giveaway Winner…

lookie look what I won over at Trudi’s Two Dresses Studio

she offered a surprise gift for her May blog giveaway and I was the lucky winner…

I could not be more delighted…even the Canadian postage stamps are enchanting…

I adore each and every detail…

thank you SO very much dear Trudi for all of the creative treasures you’ve shared with me…

there is still time to join in her fabulous June/July monthly giveaway here…if you stop by…say hi to Trudi for me 🙂

while you are visiting be sure and click on THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT on her sidebar…it is a wonderful collaboration she is spearheading and there is still time to join in…

a Deb ‘sea’ surprise…

everything about Deb Christensen’s surprise package to me recently charmed the socks right off me…

she had me with her fish tail magic islands card…

and goodies galore…

her fresh water pearl and delicate sea glass necklace is beyond beautiful with its pretty silver chain…

I put it on right away…as I just happened to be wearing a pair of green sea glass earrings I got some years ago…

they are in no way as delicate as Deb’s jewelry creations

a glass vial of fresh water pearls she carefully tucked in reminded me of mermaid’s tears…

or precious babies teeth…so very sweet…

the last packet of treasures I opened totally wowed me too…

how kind and generous of Deb to share some of her treasure trove of perfect rust and patina with me…

with touches of salt and sea and time spent on Alaskan shores…

a place I have only dreamed of…

if you have not yet had a chance to see the fish tail creations she’s made the last several years for a Kodiak Alaska Community Art Auction…you’ll definitely want to take some time to check them out here

each one is a marvel…

be prepared to get sidetracked by her photography…storytelling and art posts…with SO much to enjoy!

Deb is a mixed media artist extraordinaire

when I visit her blog and read about her life I am always entranced and feel richer and happier for it…

she’s a great cook and does that professionally in a really special setting each summer…

her absence in blogland for those months always makes my heart grow fonder awaiting her return…

BIG Yay for blog friends and art mail and wonderful surprises!!!

“i hope when you wear the necklace you will feel our misty cool sea breezes and smell the green cucumbery smell of the beaches!” ~Deb Christensen, Dy-ing to be yours

thank you dear Deb for sharing your talents…your art and your heart…it is people like you that help make blogland such a great place to be!!!
