White*click for a closeup*

I created  fabric paper for the postcard background adding the blackbird image on some white sheer rice paper … touching up with a dry paint brush and white acrylic paint

this Beatles song has always been a favorite of mine … I am often inspired by music

Precious Magic

I created this beeswax postcard for the TGIF “it’s magic” challenge

the winged poppet is from Lisa’s Altered Art

angel-closeupstill having fun with beeswax … I rubbed metallic acrylic paint on the stamped beeswax to highlight the edges

fun note about playing with beeswax, you can keep adding or take away just by  reheating the wax … I had added a pressed Gingko leaf at the bottom but then decided to cover it with the angel … I worked on book board which is nice and sturdy

TGIF No: 93 Red Flowers

This lovely lady just happens to have pretty red flowers on her dress which fits the TGIF challenge this week

I used a page from a magazine for my ATC background

The TGIF challenge this week is “Childhood”.  For my skinny, I used two Leslie Brier images on a junk paper background that I stamped and added inked highlights to.

Did you ever have one of those days……here is my gothic arch ATC.  I Love the shape in any size.  To see more offerings for this fun challenge be sure and visit TGIF.

Rare Bird

Coming in down to the wire for playing in TGIF’s theme of “Exotic Birds”.   My bird finally got out of my head and onto the postcard.

Had lots of fun with this one, into the wee hours of the night.  Our scanner is not cooperating though, so I had to wait for daylight to take a photo.

Heart of Gold

Gold is the challenge at Dans ma maison il y a… du doré this week.   The Neil Young song, Heart of Gold,  is the first thing that came to mind.  It’s a favorite and still speaks to me after all these years.    Music really does inspire me and has a huge impact on my every day life.  House is the challenge at TGIF this week also.

I covered a wooden heart with candy foil and painted it, adding texture with two kinds of mesh.  The wings are German scrap and I used a golden flimmersterne for the burst.

Doggone It

Friday’s challenge at TGIF is Dogs.     I had a little fun with this one using a real playing card, covering it with stamped and inked tissue paper.

TGIF: Santa Claus

TGIF has the theme of  “Santa Claus” this week.  I’ve created a Santa arch using  different papers

TGIF has the challenge of making “skinny’s” this week.  For my 3 x 5 inch skinny I’ve combined paper, paint, book text,  lace,  satin ribbon and a button.
