Hermine is challenging us this week on Wednesday Stamper to create something using gesso. It really is a great ingredient in mixed media. I kid with friends that if you make a mistake or don’t like how something turned out……gesso is the magic fix! You can cover, add texture and begin again!

For my card, I tried out my new Copic markers to color in the unmounted Gypsy stamp. To blend the piece to the background I used heavy gesso all around; inking and painting over it all. The extra thick gesso can be layered for a real textured effect; I used one application for my card.

gotta love them coptic markers. although i have to say they bleed? through the back of my pages etc. quite a lot, so you need to watch out how you use them!
